Just to throw a curve ball.BTW Hated the strike call on Ball 4 to Bryant.

The Cardinals made an excellent run,so the trade with Colorado helped propel them against the Dodgers.The again it was Scherzer came out on top. - Rumor is the Angels want him on there staff in 2022. Whatever happens there the Dodgers are in a good position to win it all again.

Just to make this a Rams thread.I HATE the Dodgers,but Magic Johnson
is part of that Owernership group.

Magic was one of the first to get Season Tickets to SOFI.He looks better in the BOX SUITE than in a pull down seat.

Then to add if it wasn’t for Magic where would The Rams be ? Stan Kronke put in a BIG over to buy the Dodgers & stadium.

Just to add I knew then The Rams we’re coming back to LA because he bought the piece of property from his wife.I’m sure wink wink wink. I’ll stop

OT - Dodgers Giants Shadenfruede

It appeared Darin Ruf struck out to end the game a couple months ago. But the ump said he didn't offer and it was a game tying bases loaded walk. Giants ended up winning that one. Dodgers woulda been division champs if he struck out. That is baseball. You have to live with umps decisions. Because of that non strike out Dodgers won't have home field in any series this year. Even though they have the best record of all the remaining teams. But again, you have to live with umps decisions. Its part of the game.

The very first post in this thread is looking at QB rankings as ranked by ESPN.

Stafford is ranked 9th. Last week he was ranked 8th. There's a little red arrow pointing down next to his name under the "trend" section. That's trending down, just so we're clear.

By the end of week 3, Stafford was ranked pretty high, higher than 8 and certainly 9. The last two weeks he hasn't played as well as he played in weeks 1-3. Even if he played pretty decently against the Hawks, it wasn't as good of a performance as he had weeks 1-3. That's why he's ranked 9th currently by ESPN, which is what this thread is discussing until it got quickly derailed to talk about who we would build a team around.

I said that while I am not worried about Stafford, I can understand why the 8 QBs ahead of him in their rankings are there, although I'm not really sure about Prescott, and honestly I think Jackson rose way too much, but whatever. Stafford is trending in the wrong direction by their chart, because the last two weeks he has gone down in their ranking. I don't know about you, but I generally think that when a player drops in the rankings that's going in the wrong direction, I would prefer they go up.

You can save the straw-man arguments as well, I'm not expecting him to go out there and throw for 5 TD's and almost 400 yards every game, I never said anything remotely to that. I said the past two weeks he has missed some throws, and left plays on the field, which is just an objective fact if you watched the games. That is why he's dropped in their QB rankings and at this point, it's hard to argue against their logic because those things have happened, he played better in weeks 1-3 than he did weeks 4 and 5. That doesn't mean he's played like absolute shit and is the worst QB in the league or anything stupid like that, it just means that he played really well in the first three weeks and not as well in the last two weeks. That should not be a difficult concept to grasp, it says nothing about how he'll play on Sunday or in the future. It's about the past two weeks and his level of play compared to the first three weeks.

If you can't understand that then for the love of god just don't reply because I really don't know how to make it more simple.

Several things about this DJ ‘thing’.

We have no idea whether or not McVay spoke privately with DJ about the showboating or not. Same with how he holds the ball. I’m thinking that conversation probably took place, but we’ll never really know. McVay has a history of correcting his players in practice, including superstars like AD, so it’s not as if McVay is a timid HC. Not hardly.

It’s no secret that Stafford and DJ haven’t yet fully gelled. But I think it’s just a question of time. Both are elite at what they do and once they do get on the same page, look out!

If DJ can remain healthy then this Ram passing attack with the superb OL pass protection will be a nightmare to defend.

Bobby Wagner made an interesting point about Rams game. Said Rams ran their routes deeper than Seattle had seen on film. But as he noted, that only works if QB has time to throw. So, as most things in football do, came back to Rams winning that part of the line of scrimmage.

This is the difference that I've mentioned in other posts. McVay has Stafford reading long to short and is scheming his route concepts deeper across the board. This is why the Rams treat 3rd and long like it was no different than say 3rd and 5. McVay is showing his confidence in the OL protection, by playing a lot of empty backfields.

McVay's passing scheme has also changed in other ways. He's isn't layering his receivers in the same way as in previous years. The WRs look to have more route options this year. It has lead to some miscommunication on throws but it's something that once Stafford and the receivers get in sync will be very hard to defend by the DBs.

If Higbee doesn't play or is limited, will McVay use Harris? These next games would be the perfect opportunity to test Harris' progress. I would love to see Harris and D. Jax on the field at the same time.

This is no longer a possession-oriented pass attack. The deep strike looks to be Sean's primary goal with everything else as setup.

One other thing I read from Jordan is McVay has changed his interview schedule. He now meets with the media before practice on Wednesday and won't anymore on Thursday. We usually saw every team put out an injury report on Wednesday and the Rams were like yeah no thanks. Now he changed that so no report on Thursday but we get it a day early like every team. It often led to panicked posts, not saying this was one, with questions about injuries and it was like how the hell did so and so say this injury report when the Rams haven't put one out yet :D

Agree with most of your post but not this part. Stafford has always pushed the ball down the field. Always loved the deep ball. Even going back to his Georgia days.. I mean you would too if you had a howitzer for a right arm. To me this is just inherent in him and why McVay wanted to make the change to move on from Goff. Goff always took the underneath route immediately if it was open and it was just natural for him. They're just different QBs in that way, but I dont think McVay is telling Stafford to read it deep to shallow. The passing plays have a specific progression and order to go through reads, and I think Stafford is just much better at that. And add his desire to push the ball down the field on top.
