Honest question

The problem is it’s not just one list, it’s list after list with the creator of the lists being AA. You can’t tell me if this was switched that you wouldn’t have an outpouring calling the presenter racist if things were completely opposite with only listing white WR’s and leaving off a black WR who had the best season a WR has EVER had. But it’s okay if the opposite holds true.

You’re right, there are things that need to be improved but discrediting someone because of the color of their skin regardless of their ability or quality of volume of work they performed and a lot of what happened back in the 50s- 60s as a whole.

Speaking of jobs and getting equal opportunities, The Rooney Rule is a racist rule by concept since it only considers race and not ability which is racist by definition. Now the rule that was intended to create diversification is just a check box teams have to check before hiring who their going to hire anyways.

Also, if we are going to follow this way of thought of 75percent of the NFL is AA so 75% of HC, FO, and Owners need to be AA? That’s absolutely discriminatory and the whole concept behind that thought is completely racist.

If that’s the case we need to have the NFL reflect the exact percentages what the nation is to include opportunity, diversication, and inclusion.
So here we go:
60% white
18% Hispanic
12%AA
5% Asian
.07% Native American.

If a team doesn’t meet this criteria they are forced to give up all draft picks the following year and be hit with a 100 million dollars against the cap. This is a good idea right? Let’s force diversification. Where do we stop this mindless insanity that only focuses on race or ethnicity and doesn’t consider ability or experience.
Because it’s been proving time and time again that ability has nothing to do with it when it comes down to old white men having to hire black men.

And it’s been plenty of white analysis comparing Kupp to only white receivers as well it’s not just AA journalist. Conversely you have AA journalist calling out the disparity that Kupp is facing as well.

I’m glad we are having this conversation but no where did I say it had to be 75 percent owners or head coaches but with a league that’s over 75 percent black and only about 1 percent is in a head coaching position. That speaks volume.

Force diversification idk using terms like that really makes me think. Because doing what’s right and morally responsible shouldn’t ever be considered forced. But I guess when you live in a certain bubble it’s hard to fathom what others have to go through on a day to day basis.

It’s been proving that a AA man with the same degree more on the job training will get paid less that a white man with the same degree and even less on the job training.
So while people should be judged by their ability and experience that just not the case and we can be real about that.

Kupp is a football guy. To the causal fan and to the causal reporter who only like the one handed grab the over the top personas the elite speed guys Kupp won’t be on their radar. That’s why it took Bruce way longer to get in the hall of fame that’s why it’s taking Holt too long to get in.

Guys like that are always gonna be over looked even if he was black. But I can guarantee you when the players do their top 100 ranking I bet he be on there. Cause his peers which are mostly black know what type of Dog Kupp is

I appreciate DT A'Shawn Robinson. He's been a stud the last half of the season and during the postseason.

The guy is versatile also!!! :laugh2: A'Shawn Robinson
"In his junior season, he appeared at fullback in goal line situations in games against LSU and Michigan State in addition to starting on the defensive line."

This seems wild... as a High Schooler: " He also holds the deadlift record at West Deptford High School with 765 pounds."
Hmm, we've been talking about incorporating a FB . . . .

BC

Am I overdoing it with Championship purchases?

This is MONEY.
Buy this one. Go big or go home.

Things I think I think this morning. (With all due apologies to Peter King)

Winning a SB was fun! Let’s do it again!

Stafford critics have become scarce as hen’s teeth, haven’t they?

Stafford will extend this year for about 5 more years and it will be on a semi-friendly deal. Not cheap, of course, but semi-friendly. He will retire a Ram and ultimately be voted into the HOF with 2-3 SB wins in his pocket.

McVay gets a juicy raise and long extension on his contract. He ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Snead also gets a well deserved raise. Heck, doesn’t he deserve an Executive of the Year award, too? I mean, what more does he gave to do?

Michel did a great job but he’s a goner. Rams will draft an inexpensive RB every year for the foreseeable future. They learned their lesson with Gurley, I think.

Boom will be extended and take the place of the departed Big Whit.

Speaking of Big Whit, could anybody write a better story for him in his final year? Wow! I see a TV career ahead for him if he’s interested.

I honestly don’t know what Rams are gonna do about Allen and Corbett. I keep waffling back and forth. I do feel reasonably sure that maintaining and maybe even improving that OL will be a very high priority. I believe that lesson has been well learned. I’m still sick about not drafting Humphrey. That’s one of the biggest self inflicted wounds of the Snead/McVay era. Sigh…

Rams should have one of best DL’s in league even after losing SJD. I bet they keep drafting there just to keep the pipeline full, though.

I make a Miller extension a 90% probability. Just makes too much sense for all parties.

I make an OBJ extension at least 60% likely, although it might be a short and incentive laden one because they say that he’s unlikely to play until November. Both Miller and OBJ were playing at an elite level and Snead is all about acquiring or keeping such players.

Speaking of OBJ, let’s not assume that he’ll be out as long as players with his injury back in the day. New surgical techniques are now available and Akers is Exhibit A for a possible 5-6 months recovery period. No reason to think that OBJ won’t devote himself 100% to rehab like Kupp and Akers did, is there?

TE this offseason is gonna be interesting to watch. My guess is that they let Mundt walk and draft a TE somewhere in this reportedly deep TE class. Hopefully, Blanton and Hopkins in the playoffs was not a mirage. I’m reasonably sure that Blanton is legit for this O, but Hopkins still has to win me over.

I’ve got a hunch that this Harris kid is gonna blossom this year and McVay is gonna have a hard time leaving him on the bench. Nice problem to have, huh?

Rams will draft an ILB at some point on Day 3. Probably won’t get snaps in his 1st year but hopefully will contribute along with Jones in year 2. Jones was a good pick but ILB is still a work in progress if we want to compete against top teams.

Rams will draft BPA with their 3rd rounder but CB might be their guy if it comes down to tiebreakers.

When you think about it, there seem to be few holes on this team even after expected UFA losses. I foresee light and targeted FA acquisitions other than the above mentioned Miller and OBJ and then the usual sprinkling of our 8 picks on players that Ram scouts have discovered at many different positions. Rams are among league’s best at this.

Extending Gay and Powell on ST seems like a no brainer. DeCamillis pulled the fat out of the fire and ended the last third of the season with a very fine ST corps in all phases. No reason to think that they won’t pick up this year right where the left off last year.

I have very few concerns about losing asst coaches this offseason. Heck, make that ZERO concerns. This has been going on every single offseason since year one of the McVay regime. And every single offseason McVay has hired terrific replacements, with the sole exception of Bonamego. Yeah, Morris and DeCamillis both gave me early season scares but both came around and had their respective units firing on all cylinders by the latter part of season and throughout the playoffs.

I just reread my post here and I may sound like a cockeyed optimist but I really think optimism is justified for these Ram players and coaches. As I look around the NFC I see NO team that the Rams should fear. Respect, of course, but no team that I consider superior to our Rams. Not one.

That’s a really good feeling, man.

That's some very justified optimism. I firmly believe when week one rolls around, the 2022 team will even better equipped to win it all.

Anyone else still in disbelief?

We went to the game. It was epic in its own way.

We are going to throw a SB party this Sunday. We are prepared for us to be us two. Simple affair with snacks.

We live in Vacaville California so if any one is interest in coming let us know. Just more wings from Wingstop.

Just throwing it out there for the hell of it.

Seriously, we want to do this again while the high is still here. Our house was built for SB parties.

GO RAMS!!!
Of course I was kind of joking on such short notice but I got to thinking that maybe that is not such a bad off season idea.

Get together re-watching the game or at least just have it on. Wearing our new championship gear. Or not. And just having a different kind of SB party.

I am kind of digging the idea personally.

Team trip to Vegas?

How we celebrate! (or, Stafford and Kupp still practicing!)
Very interesting that several players went to Las Vegas - I am guessing to unwind and to hit the little white ball around!

As a comment, I did some consulting during my working career - and while money was no object for some events, or to capture a new account or project - that picture shows one bad ass hospitality suite, right there!!

Game Balls for today... One of my first is for Hopkins.. A great game

Unsung hero game balls;

Offense-Hopkins block sprung Kupp on the 4th down play. He also made some crucial catches. I hope his role evolves.

Defense-Ashawn Robinson turned out to be the beast we needed to solidify the run defense. With his play in the mix we have the best DL in the league.

ST-Gay for being that Ace in the Hole that we needed in a game like this. We all know if the Rams needed him to win the game he was going to answer the call.

Weddle Confirms Re-Retirement

They kept showing the replay where he came in low and held his shoulder after, but he hurt it a bit earlier on a tackle along the sideline, got his arm wrapped around the guy and it stretched behind him and whipped back in front when his momentum took him past.

Thought he looked slow getting up. Absolutely leaving it all out there even with a brace on playing through a torn pec

Correct. Well picked up.
