Rams unique draft strategy: 5 things to remember heading to the draft

An article by Jourdan that will answer a lot of things that are asked or commented on around here IMO.

Nate Tice Big Board

I'm a fan of Tice also. I'm a bit puzzled by the Tet at 3 however. Personally, I'm not all that impressed by him, certainly not more then Jeanty. He's also down on Barron which shocks me.

The more I read up and watch Loveland, the more I think that is McVay's #1 target in the 1st round. Tice loves him as well. Had Loveland been on a team with a functional QB, look out.
Barron will likely end up as a slot corner. Round 1 is high for a slot corner.

Tet has already been taken off some teams boards. His comments on not watching football sends a vibe that he doesn’t love the game.

Nuggets Fire Coach Malone and GM Calvin Booth

I’m hearing Mike Malone didn’t get along with the players and the GM. Murray and Joker playing 34 minutes + per game. So son of Stan fired both.

Malone is now replaced interim coach by Bill Adelman whose father destroyed CWebb, Bibby, and Bobby Jackson with too many minutes. Adelman probably didn’t warn Malone about the minutes either.

These moves are real head scratchers.

Memento's "The Rams are Gonna Kick Ass and Take Names!" Mock Draft Redux.

I kind of quit reading in depth when you had the Bills giving us their 2nd and 5th round picks to move up 4 spots. Not realistic, IMO. I realize not all draft day trades mirror the Jimmy Johnson trade chart but you got at least be in the ballpark. Rams pick at 26 is 700 pts. Bills 30 pick is 620. Pick 62 is 284 pts and pick 177 is 21 pts, total of 925 pts. Not even in the ballpark of compensation. More realistic would be the Bills 3rd round pick at 94 which is worth 124 pts and the Rams may need to even send back one of our 6th rounders. Otherwise, great work, love most of the picks.

Momentum Gaining for Playoff Seeding Change

Another thing that has kinda been mentioned.

Without the current scheduling system based on Divisions... the regular season will become much less meaningful than it is now. This is what the NBA did... their regular season games have turned into basically something resembling preseason games that are avoided by players. Now we see their fans avoiding the games too.

The NFL added to the importance of their regular season a few years back by making sure that Divisional games are scheduled during the last few games of the season for everyone. This has prevented teams from just resting their best players during the last several games of the year because nothing was on the line. The Divisional scheduling has made the NFL's regular season games important and basically Must See TV from game 1 all the way through game 17. Meanwhile, basketball has turned their regular season games into something almost everyone tries to avoid more so than not.

Also... the NFL's scheduling using the Divisions as the base has created natural rivalries for most teams and those rivalry games add even more interest/value. Most of the Natural rivalries happen twice a year as well. Respect the history that these rivalries created and add to them each season. Wait, No... let's just throw all that in the garbage because the bitches in Detroit are crying again.

Jaxson Dart

Dart's probably my favorite quarterback in this class, not counting Ward, who obviously isn't going to fall anywhere near us. Quite frankly, I wouldn't have a problem with him at #26; he reminds me a bit of Baker Mayfield. The question is if he lasts that long.

Either way, wouldn't have a problem if McVay decides he's our franchise quarterback of the future; you'll know he scouted him out extensively and can help him attain that peak.
