Is Noteboom the guy?

Noteboom is a quality LT. But I don't think he will be able to replace what Whitworth brought. Few can. But it is still a concern. Our running game already was struggling, and now we replaced arguably our best run-blocking offensive lineman in Big Whit with an injury prone LT that has run blocking as his weakness.

Look for the Rams to really air it out this season, IMO. Especially with Robinson as WR2 now. It seems our team is built to pass, from a gun slinger at QB, the concentration of draft and free agent capital at the WR position, an offensive line that excels mostly in pass protection, RBs that all can serve as pass catching weapons, a head coach that favours passing the football, etc.

I don't think being pass heavy is a problem at all, per se, especially in today's NFL. But it does mean if Stafford's elbow proves to be an issue, we could be in some trouble.

Notebroom's pass protection really is excellent based on what we have seen so far. I am cautiously optimistic he can neutralize Von Miller, who before joining the Rams, was widely regarded as a very good but no longer a game-breaking player that was beginning his age-related decline. I do suspect some regression in Von's game now that AD99 is not playing alongside him.

Your Prediction about the Rams this season?

The media will ask Matt Stafford about his elbow after every single game.

Wagner will be a breath of fresh air.

Robinson will turn heads.

The interior line will be a problem.

The secondary will be buzzing like bees.

AD will be AD.

JR will be JR.

Hendo will be the lead back early. Cam will re-emerge. And the rook will get his. And we'll have a great rotation come playoffs.

Our new OC will inject some college fun into our O.

Morris will play around with DB combinations and the Star role until the playoffs, driving us all crazy.

Us fans will complain - a lot.

We will go 2-0 against the dirty Whiners. :fistbump1:

The Running Game

I don’t know about the size.. based on what I saw and camp reports. I can’t remember if you attended camp, but others mentioned him being noticeably undersized.
But he’s about the same as Blythe.

Tell me about Austin Blythe? I still think he was(is) underrated. Last season only shows me he is an excellent teammate & both Allen & Shelton are still benefiting from him as NFL Players.
-Shelton last season was MAULING Players. Don’t know how well he stands up against a Bullrush? He does a good job run blocking imo.I just saw him finishing plays.
He was playing center mostly the days I went to camp. Was not impressed by Lance Brusss. His injury helped provide a roster spot.

Rams 53 Man Roster 2022 / Official Cut Down Thread

Lost Williams, gained Troy Hill.
Yes, CBs will be better in time, but DBs have to know their assignments cold.
Rookie Mistakes = TDs.
When they get up to speed, our CB depth should be excellent.
Not sure they're ready to put our there yet.

BC

You also have to consider Rochell, who's another year improved. David Long Jr. played out of his mind in the playoffs, and we still have him as a nickelback. And I don't care that they're rookies: Durant and Kendrick are upgrades over the back half of the cornerback roster last year (i.e., Donte Deayon and Grant Haley).

Cornerback is an upgrade, even with the loss of Darious Williams.

Time for the Sophomore Class to Shine!

F them picks is a diversion. The draft is actually important to the Rams.

Look at tomorrow's game and the role that will be played by the Sophomore class of Rams' draftees.

Ernest Jones - starting ILB and a player who could be poised for stardom as he tries to combine his young athleticism with wisdom gleaned from playing with Bobby Wagner.

Tutu Atwell - with Van Jefferson out and coming off a strong camp, he may never have a better chance of establishing himself.

Ben Skowronek - after an uneven rookie year, he'll also get opportunities to show his worth.

Robert Rochell - the guy we hope emerges as the CB2, as he's one of the best athletes on the team.

Okay, guys... you're not rookies anymore. Let's see what you've got!

USS Harvey Milk ladies and gents

It's a shame that the term *woke* has gone from meaning something tangible to a pejorative term adopted by people on the right when referring to anything or anybody they see as a threat to them and their traditional way of doing things.

You cannot call something politically woke when it is supported by people so close to the centre.

If you said it was progressive I'd agree, but that's not the same thing at all.
I’ll disagree with your opinion. As you have with mine.

So where is Lance McCutcheon on the WR depth chart.

Plenty of players cry. Absolutely zero shame in it and it says a lot more about people who criticize it/make fun of it than it does the player..
(I'll step off this particular high horse now)

Looking forward to the Rams playing that 9ers offensive line.

Keep your eye on them. Jimmy G-strings is over there as well. Crying out loud laughing.

BTW- I’m not that guy,but if you need a hug I’ll be there just like
Dee-Dee-Sam-of-Smell might need one.

The biggest thing to ME as I’m a ME poster is that The REF’s pick the FLAG UP on Nick Scott. I wasn’t in a place to throw anything on that call. All the Calls were going against The Rams & I would’ve hated to see The Rams loss on that call.

Weather Samuel CRIED or not I could give at RATs Butt about it. Yeah - I respect that, butt FREAKING MFer has to TALK his CRAP about The Rams afterwards!!!

That’s bulletin stuff right there.FREAKING if you want to protect a player like that & Bring UP AD99 & his Crying ? He was MAD at himself for not being there for teammates & trying to play hurt.

What ever it is F” THE NINERS!! I don’t know how long ago you’ve been a Rams Fan. I know The 90’s & a Niners friend kept asking me why I was still a RAMS Fan. They aren’t even in LA anymore. I saw Norton & Hamks hitting the goal posts.

Sadly enough I hadn’t seen my friend in about 18 years. He just jumped off the GG Bridge less than 4 months ago.
Because of my spirit & where I work, don’t think that doesn’t hurt my spirits & emotions.
—Could I cry for him? YES- do I no. Doesn’t change the love or feelings I have.

I hate The 9ers & hope there #3 pick QB fails. Jimmy G as a NFL QB I respect.

Setting the example: The steady leadership of Rob Havenstein

In 2016 Havenstien was coming off an injury that I thought was going to be career ending. That goes back to that NFL show Hardknocks.
He has worked hard to get to where he is today. I’ve always seen him as a team leader & willing to learn. He took to Whitworth from Day 1. Noteboom was lucky enough to be behind Big Whit. Now he is signed for 3 years to play LT.
I really like how this group saw the future coming in 2021 & have continued Whitworth’s legacy.

Seven New Starters: What Will Their Impact Be?

The addition of Aker and Williams makes the RBs a big improvement even if the offensive line takes a step back. I don't think the offensive line will have much of a drop-off. Look for McVay to establish the run early on to help the pass protection. A quicker offensive line might help the screen game which has dropped off in recent years.

ARob a big difference on the offense. A healthy Higbee also makes the offense scarier.

Hollins/Lewis will be a key to helping the pass rush keep up to late last year's effort. Wagner making the calls helps the defense. The secondary will be better all around with healthy bodies and depth.
