Stuff from Rams pods

A few fumbles by Akers and he’ll be right back to half in on the running game.

@Neil039 good point and it could be a conundrum. McVay wants a Gurley level back so that he can trust his run game. However he won’t want to pay a Gurley level runningback. I guess he was willing to roll with McCaffrey but guys like him are few and far between. So does this mean that we may never see a 100% committed to the run under McVay?
I dunno... seems for a team that didn't have a run game in 21', he certainly kept trying to run it in the playoffs and Super Bowl.

Latest News Lost Sub at sea

This demonstrates why the FAA exists. You need to have a governing body that ensures companies aren't cutting corners due to operational and financial pressures. Aviation is among the safest methods to travel in spite of the fact that it is extremely unforgiving, and this is due to the rules that are largely written in blood.

Sadly niche areas like submarine excursions can sort of sidestep the regulations. So this is an event that will lead to improved oversight with some rules that are written in blood. It is very sad but this is what we do. We learn the hard way that as valuable as greed is for an economy it must be balanced with some fear and oversight.

The way I see it...

Well, they started losing OL in camp and I believe Allen first went down in week 1. They kept losing them each week after. I mean Neshke and Sura or Aboushi were signed in late Sept already. So it happened quick. By week 8 or 9 they lost 7 OL. That alone degrades a team significantly.

So good health and continuity on the OL can make them a much better team even without Ramsey, Floyd, Gaines, etc. It's just an offensive league and last yr their offense was throttled even before Stafford was hurt and he only started 9 games.

The offense and a faster young defense can keep them competitive. Even if the D gives up big plays, I think they will make some as well.

It might be a year full of 31-28 games. In fact losing Gay might be the most consequential loss if the new kicker is sub par.
And as Kurtfalk so eloquently put it, a big change in attitude.

Rams Taco Tour ...

I used to eat them- and squid- regularly. Had a girlfriend from Italy, and another from Spain, so used to consume Mediterranean seafood regularly.

Comparing the intelligence of a chicken to that of an octopus is not what I would expect from you, sadly.

Man I hate to give you the wrong impression.

Believe me, I have always known how different and amazing octopuses are. Same with cuttlefish, squid, and even shelled primitive mollusks. I have a blown glass octopus and other octopus shit all over my house. I love em too.

I spend a lot of my free time out in the saltwater... fishing on top and spearfishing on the bottom. We only kill creatures we will eat. I look at things that live underwater as the most delicious food on earth. I have zero sensitivity to any creature that can breathe underwater.

I've shared my home with a parrot for way too many years. Call me a crazy bird person (cat lady crazy)... but birds are smarter than most have any idea about... and their emotional intellect too. Some more than others... but chickens are actually a trip and smart af. The old saying of "bird brain" meaning stupid has been proven to be stupid itself... science has discovered that their brains process things faster than ours in many ways. So I am serious in my belief that chickens (and many birds) are extremely underrated intelligence wise.

We've got a couple of saltwater aquariums in the house because of our love for, and fascination of, underwater life. Everyone in my immediate family shares in deciding what different creatures we keep in them. My sons and I have all gone back and forth about getting an octopus tank too. We have a strict rule about all creatures we keep though... you never give them a name. That's no joke either... name a fish and you've just cursed it to die. Some of the fish, inverts, and corals we keep aren't cheap... you learn not to name them or get attached to them fast in this hobby. No emotional attachment can be given to the creatures if you're really gonna enjoy the hobby as well.

So I'm admitting to being a mollusk/sea creature killer, keeper, and eater without any emotional attachment whatsoever... well, except for me wanting to know when I'm gonna get the next one. I eat a bird too, but I'd never be able to kill one. I've given my house to a parrot and I named him Rasta.

I gave it a little thought in other words.

A long way from home

Wife is not going for the Big Sur drive. She got pretty uptight with mountain drives we’ve had so far. Nice paintings but I think I’ll pass.
Yeah, the ocean views are amazing but some of the drop offs are pretty steep, so understandable that your wife might get a little freaked out.

And as for the painting I was joking of course-- it's unbelievable how expensive everything is at Carmel. Enjoy your trip....

Sean McVay gives a key reason many teams don't like being on 'Hard Knocks'

It would be cool if we had an owner that thought the same way. Jerry would gladly be on Hard Knocks for the exposure. Instead, he holds TC in freaking California so he can sell jerseys and extend the brand. It's NEVER about football with Jerry.
I'll always be grateful for his role in returning the team to L.A. though.:thumbsup1:

Great Video by Bret on the current state and future of the Sports Media industry

I am unfamiliar with Brett Kollmann, so I read some background/bio stuff, then jumped on youtube.

He did a 2022 Mock Draft show. After picking Aidan Hutchinson to Jacksonville #1, he had QB Malik Willis to the Lions at #2 overall. No one is perfect with NFL mocks; and it's foolish to judge too quickly off one mistake.

But Malik Willis #2 overall?!?!

There was a time when Malik @ 2 was a real thing. Like when Jimmy Clausen was the next sure thing way back when.

Opposite List

So we saying Avery and Tavon don't belong on this list?
What about Danario Alexander? 7 Starts 46 Rec? I think he flashed enough to stay off this list.

Brian Quick though?!?

Yeah, Quick definitely belongs on the list. I had high hopes for him, he flashed a tiny bit, but mostly was a huge bust.

I'd add Isaiah Pead or Mardy Gilyard, but both of them were legit good dudes, so I'd feel bad about it.
