GAME DAY SNF - Giants at Bills

Live in NYC, and the New York media has been vocal about Justin Pugh today.

The veteran OL was out of football, and on-the-street. Pugh was not with any team this off-season, or in any training camp this summer. He was done. The Giants have been decimated by injuries to their OL this season ... starters and back-ups have gone down, with practice squad players needing to start.

Pugh was signed last week, started at guard last night and moved to tackle when the starter was injured.

Several in the local media, including Boomer Esiason, have been all over this AMAZING, INCREDIBLE STORY!!!

And all I can think is Oday Aboushi, Ty Nesekhe and Matt Skura ... Three different veteran OL the Rams signed off-the-street last season, who all started multiple games last season.

The same NY Talking Heads in 2022 discussed how bad the defending champs were but rarely mentioned their OL injuries.

I guess a one-off Amazing Story in NY carries a ton more weight than THREE Amazing Stories in L.A.

CELEBRATE !! Rams Defense Kicks the Shit out of Deadbirds, (A.K.A., CELEBRATION THREAD!)

That’s a moot point. We got skoronek that costs a lot less and produces about the same well called upon.

Our current direction is the cheap way. Why would we trade for a 4th WR? Or 3rd? That’s going to cost more than a draft pick? Easy enough to draft one with 4 cheap years.
cheap bastid!

Jim Everett on Rams draft of Old

Tye Hill over Haloti Ngata, Claude Wroten over Elvis Dumervil, Adam Carriker over Darrelle Revis, and Brian Leonard over Eric Weddle. I was a fucking teenager, and I was all but screaming for us to draft Ngata and Dumervil. And then I saw Revis still available. And we took fucking Carriker instead. And then we one-uped our stupidity by taking a fullback over a stud safety to pair with Atogwe.

The next 3, looking ahead

We do have a lot of teams on the schedule that we might be battling for a playoff spot. If we win 3 of the next 4 I like our chances. AZ, Pitt and GB are all beatable. Who knows, Dallas could be too. Their 3 wins were against some pretty weak offenses in the Giants, Jets and Patriots. They got blown out by a legit team. And the Cardinals lone win was against them. They may not be as good as advertised. What if we won our next 4? We'd be sky high.

Any Trade Ideas/Thoughts Concerning The Rams Before The Trade Deadline?

Yes, you can.

Is he still a good pass rusher? I feel like he's been looking pretty washed of late. I also heard he has Crohn's disease, which makes it hard for him to stay on the field.

I have Crohn’s… in remission, but still… when it was bad… it was BAD.

PREGAME Cardinals at Rams - Pregame Thread

McVay didn't call the O-plays in the pre-season and I believed passed the duties around to other O-coaches so at least we go some practice going in.

Raheem is the slam dunk HC if Sean is bringing "John" or "Some hot future chick name" into this world.
He passed it to LaFleur like he does every preseason gives it to his OC so they get some experience with it. Morris does the same he split with Henderson and I think Shula.

Av’s Crazy Early 2024 Rams Mock

Avenger:
Though I would prefer a LT in the 1rst round, I take no issue with grabbing an Edge guy if he’s gonna wreak havoc in the backfield. There’s no substitute for QB pressure.

Where I kinda wince is a RB in the 2nd. Admittedly, I don’t follow other teams as closely as I used to, but based on what I’ve been seeing when I watch parts of a game (non Rams) or red zone, I’m not seeing any rookie RBs starting or carrying the bulk of the load for their teams. Unless things have changed in the last couple of weeks, even bijon robinson (falcons) is the #2 back.
When you couple that with our OL being able to pass block more than run block right now, a RB is not that high of a priority (2nd round) until the OL can block better.

I DO like the idea of beefing up the interior of both lines. I would make this a constant in draft strategy if I were a GM. Pressure up the middle can be just as effective as a good Edge rusher. We can just flush the QB to the outside—as long as we don’t let him break containment. I know you only went 5 rounds, but I would certainly be looking for another big body later/UDFA to help on the IDL.

When it comes to LBs, I hope the guy is fast. That’s just the way of the NFL now. I always thought Ogletree was done a disservice by being switched to MLB when he was so fast and good at running down plays. He would have been perfect in Rozeboom’s spot.
Yeah I always thought Ogletree was out of position
