The first picture shows Kyren’s left arm off the ball before the other player makes contact

Yes, the 49er player makes contact with Kyren’s head. But he got stripped of the ball because he didn’t keep the ball covered up
Dude, you didnt watch it.
He got a haymaker to his jaw and barely even brushes the ball. If you watch this and cant see that, you're just choosing not to

Man, that last play is so frustrating. I don't mind going for it, I don't mind running for it, but the direction we were going was stacked. Should have called out of the play or called a timeout and reassessed. I just don't like going through with this with the look the Whiners gave us. 6 defenders against our 5 blockers. Ugh.

That's why I said they should have run it to the left side when they seen them line up to the right like that. That's 11 people in the scrum - no room for Kyren to make that run.

Whereas the left side has 3 against 2.

Put who in? Corum? There must be plenty of reasons Hunter is not playing. you want Kyren outta here but not giving a shit about all other running backs is the problem. you would see Its a league wide problem currently with running backs. We just gonna get another one whos gonna fumble or get stopped behind the line.

Maybe change it up and run left or right instead of play calling up the middle where they know its going?
I literally said sit him down on important downs only because he seems to fumble. Yes I don't care about non Rams players fumbling. I only care about Rams players. Saying its a league wide problem is a cop out excuse for Kyren. Lets call it what it is, hes fuckin up big time and has lost lots of trust from many that he will secure the ball with 2 hands in pivotal moments.

I am sure they emphasize holding the ball to Kyren, but he probably feels the other free hand helps him to be shifty among the big guys. I will never feel comfortable now with him running the ball in the red zone, like I felt when Wendell Tyler was our RB in the 70's.
Totally agree and that's not a good feeling to have. If a running back can't hold onto the ball, you shouldn't get it.

Reading all the comments, it's all been said. For me the theme is just Self-Inficted Wounds. Problems on offense, defense, and special teams. Fix any one of those problems and we would have won.

One thing I did not expect was the very good pass protection that Jones got early in the game. He had oodles of time and space to throw. We weren't getting home. Yes, by the 4th Q and OT we were hammering him good, but I am really surprised we couldn't have done a better job earlier there.

Hidden stat: Rams now 1-1 versus Jones QBs.

This was also the first game I've seen for a while where we really didn't need the running game to set up the pass. Stafford was able to throw at will in the 2nd half and OT. 47 pass versus 16 run.

Saw an analytics post that said Rams were correct to go for it on 4th down at the end - win probability 49.1% vs 38.6% kicking a FG. I was ok with them doing that. You'd think they might have a cooked up 2 yard play in the books to run there.

Happy Ferguson got in the game and made a nice contested catch for 21 yards. Why no other targets after that?

After the Sf player makes contact with Kyren’s helmet, he follows through and strips the ball

Nothing more to say. The Rams were outcoached and out played for too much of the game. Waay too many mistakes on offense, defense, and special teams. They DESERVED to lose. Sucks that it had to be yet another prime time game, against a hated division rival, and a team we should have beaten easily, amongst a sea of enemy fans in our own fucking stadium. Ouch.

Punching at the ball is perfectly legal. But if you miss and punch someone in the head, that's a personal foul or am I wrong?
As was pointed out to me elsewhere, RBs don't get helmet-to-helmet calls for instance...so maybe not.

Which is complete, total and utter bullshit relative to how they call the rest of the game on the offensive side.

Yes, still fucking pissed. The punch-a-hole-in-the-wall-while-breaking-the-nearest-item phase has passed though.

So I got that going for me...

It doesn't excuse Kyren's shitty fumble issues. Personally could give 2 shits about any other RB fumble issues because they are not Rams. Kyren keeps fumbling at the most in opportune times. Seems like we need to sit his ass down when the game is on the line for arunningg play. I guarantee you most of our fan base holds are fucking breath whenever he runs the ball late in the game
This right here is exactly how i see it, he fumbled in college and he fumbles now. Turnovers obviously absolutely suck the life out the team and the fan base. He may be a great person and a teammate but the fumbles should come with consequences not contract extensions. He also doesn’t have any breakaway speed. Something has to give.

On the first two drives, he was throwing before the DL even had a chance to get to the QB.

Rams were leaving 5 to 10 yards in front of them.

I think they moved up a little in the second half but not enough to really make a difference until the whiners got close to the end zone.

Ok ,go ahead sit him and watch this offense suffer even more with dumbass corum or with Hunter and Watch stafford get wrecked.

Its not a cop out, he was legit hit in the face on that and shouldnt even be a fumble and his one last week was staffords handoff late because shelton cant snap a damn football.\

Now corum fumble on the other hand....
