Thanks. That’s a great watch
If most of the game is played in a QBs head, Ty Simpson is smart as all hell. He ticks three major boxes. He loves watching film; has a great memory and makes smart decisions quickly. McVay loves this kid. Bank it!
Team captain. Locker room guy. Tough. Brave. Pocket presence. NFL QBs, Warner, Everett, Daniels, Orlansky, all love his film. Played hurt half a season. Was the reason they were one game away from national championship. The protection in front of him looked damn terrible. His WRs were talented freshmans. He had no running game. On this film, his RB was woeful at picking up the blitz. His right tackle could have got him killed. He only talks about what he could do better.
He’s a glue guy who will always be looking to improve and loves being coached. He’s got a great demeanour (McVay’s favourite term for a great player)! At high school, he was the best player in State FFS. Good kid. No off field concerns in fact it’s the exact opposite. He will live in the facility!
He’s all of 6.2 and 220 pounds.
What am I missing here?
Comparing him with QBs who will be picked later is churlish. Simpson is easily one of the best players in this years draft.
Like Simpson, people round here need more of a gun slinger mentality. Why play it safe when our QB of the future is looking at you right in the face! “Don’t need no chicken littles”Go Rams
Well, he is more like 6-1" 210. So not huge. Now I won't dispute a lot of your other comments though. The fact that he can sit and develop here makes some sense since his biggest drawback is only having 15 college starts.Thanks. That’s a great watch

That’s a lot of thinking. Not a lot of knowing. I think I’m gonna stay away from this thread until after the draft.“I think Ty Simpson is pretty damn good,” Everett said in an exclusive interview. “I think he can play. And I think he comes from a family that has a mindset that Sean McVay loves. It’s been odd that there’s been zero talk about it. If they're thinking that Ty Simpson could be a possibility, I don't think you have to do it at pick 13. I think you have to do it before Pittsburgh's pick (at 21)” Jim Everett
Yes that Jim Everett not the poster who drove half of us round the twist even if I appreciated his breakdowns
He’s over 6.1 and over 210 so I guess height and weight are in the eye of the beholderWell, he is more like 6-1" 210. So not huge. Now I won't dispute a lot of your other comments though. Watching that Kurt Warner video on Simpson he mentions height and says Simpson is fine. It also was funny because he said he never sniffed 6'2" yet everywhere they list Kurt as 6'2". Reminds me of the weight with AD99. He was always listed at 285 lbs and said he was always 265.He’s over 6.1 and over 210 so I guess height and weight are in the eye of the beholder
I stand corrected though. He answered 6.2 when talking to Gruden and I didn’t check. He claims he is up above 211 in recent interviews that I watched
I disagree. He played well for much of the season but he wasn't doing it himself. In fact we'll never know the truth but I suspect they told him his job would be up for competition in camp this spring and that's part of the reason he jumped.
...I don't follow Bama. But I doubt they'd go with Simpson this year.
He was the first QB to beat 4 ranked SEC teams in a row without a bye week. That’s a pretty high pressured schedule considering they got off to a bad startHe wilted like a backup QB in the big games. I seriously doubt he would have been the dude for that program given their other options.
Also that coach is no Saban, but he does a great job with his QBs. Again I don't hate Simpson. What I hate is the idea of overdrafting his backup ass. Taking him later makes all the sense in the world.
