Okay listening to Warner - I stand firm on my opinion that Simpson will be at best a Purdy (so okay possibly a 1st round pick) or he will get hurt due to his injury history. We shall see after 3 years. I just don't want to take that chance.

Tell me this kid does not have what it takes to be great…

I once agreed with people who said we should go for broke this year and NOT draft a QB. I now completely disagree. This guy has some Tom Brady in him. The game is not too big for him and he’s definately a team first, tough guy, who reminds me of the way Stafford talks

You can see he’s a young kid who will add some timber and boy does he look natural making reads quickly, moving and throwing the ball. He’s impressive, check that, more than impressive, both in talking about tape and x&o’s, and delivering on what he sees on the field

McVay wants this kid. Bank it…

Simpson will make a fine QB2 for some lucky team. And maybe down the road he will be a Cousins level "starting" talent.

But I want a year one starter with that pick. Someone other teams are gonna fuckin feel opening weekend.
Like I said but is largely ignored

We could have our cake and eat it by drafting and then moving back up for him (before Pittsburg).

Alternatively, move down a few spots for an additional pick. There will be an impact WR available in the second round. One or two of which, like Adam’s, will outplay their more athletic cousins drafted in round one

Personally, I would take Simpson at 13 and keep our Super Bowl window wide open for years. He would be on pick 13 money for 5 years. I don’t think there is a cat in hells chance he doesn’t go on to be a plus starter in the league under McVay and he could be great

“I think Ty Simpson is pretty damn good,” Everett said in an exclusive interview. “I think he can play. And I think he comes from a family that has a mindset that Sean McVay loves. It’s been odd that there’s been zero talk about it. If they're thinking that Ty Simpson could be a possibility, I don't think you have to do it at pick 13. I think you have to do it before Pittsburgh's pick (at 21)” Jim Everett

Yes that Jim Everett not the poster who drove half of us round the twist even if I appreciated his breakdowns

He's Baker Mayfield meets Bo Nix.

According to some posters he's Kellen Clemens meets John Wolford.

We don't need a QB in the 1st round. Put simpson in next years draft and he is not a first round pick. If we are all in then go get a player that will improve the team this years. When Love drops to the browns go get him.

Save for Arch Manning ill put Simpson up against most wannabe's in next year's Draft.

Including Dante Moore, LaNorris Sellers, Maiava, Nico. Mateer, Sorsby, Whomever else.....

Well, I could really get behind a trade down to 19/20 while picking up a 2nd or a 3rd at worst and grabbing Simpson. We could still address WR/OT/LB with the remaining 3 picks and have a QB of the future.

Another year of starting for Simpson next year and I think he could easily be a 1st rounder. Before got hurt, he was the top QB in this draft class. I'm not a fan of grabbing him at 13 and it would hurt to not grab one of those top guys we have been discussing for months, but, if he works out, it would be by far the smartest move for us going forward.

But we have Stafford now. Lets support him now, there is nobody for the Rams with a better chance of winning the SB, now or in the future.
A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
I will be pissed if the Rams use a 1st round pick on a QB.

Nothing wrong with that reasoning.

Arch Manning is just a name at this point. Change his name to Joe Williams and he’s not in QB1 talks. He’s done nothing to be considered the sure fire QB1.

That is completely true, but he has to be considered a better "prospect" than the others. Has the size and that whole "Manning" thing. I understand though, got to do it ON the field.

There's a strong chance that no matter who we draft at 13, he won't start in year 1.

A WR would likely get a lot of snaps so we can call him a starter at that spot.

Other than that, where do we have an automatic starter?

OL? Nope.
DL? Nope (I disagree that Miller or Hunter would put Ford on the bench.)
TE? Nope
Secondary? Nope
QB? Nope

If we insist on a year starter, we're limiting ourselves to WR, and I'm certain they don't want to do that.
