I've only watched him casually so far, but I like Trinidad Chambliss. I hope he'll give up on the fight to return to college and go to the NFL. I could see him thriving in our offense, and I think McVay wants his next QB to be mobile.

Why though? I’ve seen this posted quite a bit and what makes people think that? He traded for a guy that just ran for 1 yard on the season and his backup (that McVay chose) is Jimmy G.

I personally would like the next QB to be mobile, but I truly don’t see what people see when they say they think MCVAY wants a mobile QB.

He traded for Stafford because Stafford was a franchise QB and available. If another franchise QB who doesn't have great mobility comes available, I'm sure McVay will be willing to sacrifice mobility. Jimmy has proven he can execute this type of offense at a fairly high level if needed and came to us relatively cheap for a veteran backup with his track record. Those moves make perfect sense. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Why do I think he wants mobility? Think back to when Goff was our QB and John Wolford. Think of the QB he drafted (Stetson Bennett). I don't believe McVay's desire has gone away. He's not married to it to such an extent he'd pass up a great QB for not being mobile, but I think he'd like to see what his offense can do with a QB who is a threat to run.

Warming up to Simpson as long as Stafford comes back so he can sit and learn for a year or two. If they could still get him after a small trade down, that would be perfect.

The other name that some have mentioned before, that is interesting, is FA Zack Wilson. He is a FA. Has been in the Shanahan type system for a year in Miami. I wonder if he would be on board sitting behind Stafford, if the Rams showed interest? The dude has crazy arm talent. Maybe he matured a bit now?

I'm game for either Simpson or Chambliss. Not usually a fan of shorter qbs but there's something different about Chambliss.
