All of these names but Curl were bargain bin hunting. If they're serious about upgrading the position they either have to spend some real money - $20 mil. plus - or use a premium draft pick. So far they've refused to do that with no 1st or 2nd round picks, and only one 3rd round pick used on the position over McVay's 9 years.
How about a trade like the Ramsey trade. They spent two first rd picks on him. Any CBs outthere that could be on the trade block?

Maybe Denzel Ward? We brought him up before. Cleveland doesnt need that contract for their rebuild. Maybe you can get him for a 2 and a future pick? Or maybe the late 1 for him and a day 2 pick back?

I can see them going the trade route if a top CB becomes available.

Don't know if that would be Ward though because he'll be 29 in a few months. As a comparison, Ramsey was 24 when they traded for him.

True, but compensation would be less and you need a guy for a 2 yr Stafford window until you develop other guys.

Forbes played very well against Carolina. If we draft or acquire a CB1, we could have one of the better tandems going into 2026-27

The biggest need outside of that is a Nickel Back who can match up against the better slot WRs in the NFC and play the run. Lake is great, but we could do with someone a little quicker, such as D'Angelo Ponds

Agree. Top-tier CB and LB are not high on the Rams' list.

Yeah, a quicker guy to match up with JSN

I saw a cool video of one of the Oregon staff, probably an equipment guy, after the game he approached Ponds and handed him the ball that he intercepted. I guess each team uses their own ball on offense, so he gave him the ball he picked off and shook his hand.

Before the Seahawks game, I want to double down on the need for one or more taller, top-tier options at CB. The safeties are fine (may need to sign Curl for '26), and Lake is signed long-term at nickel.

But these CBs have to be replaced! One FA and one 1st round draft pick. Jaylen Watson will likely be too expensive, but get Riq Woolen and kill two birds with one stone. If, as some report, they don't take McCoy or Delane with #13 pick, maybe Brandon Cisse from SC is still around for the Rams' 2nd 1st round pick. Maybe Davison Igbinosun (big and fast) is still there in round 2.

Note: Forbes will be cheap ($2.8M) -- but for a reason. Durant is FA who will ask for a lot, and Darius Williams has a no-guarantee for 2026, so I wouldn't resign either.

Where else do they have such a glaring need? O-line is signed for 2026, except they need to extend McClendon, Avila and Dotson past 2026!

Never mind Mevis is stuck, unless he decides to sit out next season.
That's right.

Xavier Smith and Justin Dedich are also Exclusive Rights free agents.

Restricted free agents are the category where a team can choose to make a Tender Offer but the player can negotiate with another team, and get an offer that the original team has the right to match.

The only Restricted free agents on the Rams (per the cap site OTC) are Keir Thomas and Nick Hampton.

I think his size will hurt him in the NFL listed 5'9' but probably shorter. There are several guys rated above him in the 6' range that run in that 4.4 range

Ponds is a dawg and has skills wheras a guy rated in that same range of top 10 -15 CB Everette from Georgia at 6'1 and 4.3 is a bit more of a project.

Delane, Terrel, Abney, Hood, Cisse, Scott are all 6' and 4.4 and rated above Ponds

I would take Ponds day 3 if he ends up there but I think we need to use 1 of our first 2 picks and value seems to be CB@13 and WR or ? @ the end of the round
