I noticed the same cluster you did. Doesn't mean it was a good idea. Did it work. Are they sticking with it?
Did they win the Superbowl? No, so overall the plan didnt work
Did they go deep in to the playoffs? Yes, because the plans were working
There was no coincidence that the rash of injury/missed games etc happened at the beginning of the season and when the rotation stabilized the team had success.
Plans a,b,c got scrapped and fortunately plan d worked
The Monday Morning QB Hall of Fame is filled with folks who blame a staff for a rash of injury like the Rams had

Did they win the SB? Was that even a parameter in this discussion? No
Did they win a game in the playoffs? Yes, but not because of the 1 plan we are discussing.
Of course, the rash of injuries affected things, but if the Rams had seen anything promising from Avila at center, do you think they would have blown up the plan? Dump Jackson and spend even more money to get Shelton?

Does calling the plan to move Avila a bad plan or a failure mean I think our coaching staff is bad. Does it over look all the great moves they made last season. No!

Now stop accusing me of stupid shit like blaming the staff for the injuries.
That is sort of like my wife accusing me of saying she has a fat ass, after I told her "Damn those pants are tight."

The question out of OTA’s will be the depth at ILBer. Shaun Dolac looks like a stud. Then again Chris Paul could have been one of the steals of the draft.

Plus Beaux Limmer looks like he just gets it & already looks like a veteran. So depth up front & who is the swing OG/C

My guess for the plan is for Limmer to get better in year 2 and if he doesn’t, Shelton steps in while they continue to develop Limmer.

It’s quite conceivable that he makes a leap this year.

The injuries ruined the plan. So if you blame the plan, then you are blaming them for the injuries.
It’s simple.
They had a plan and never got to put it in action. So if you call that a failure, you’re blaming them for the injuries

I saw Tutu as more than a deep threat. He was able to find soft spots in the middle of the field and had good hands on uncontested catches. Not sure if McVay will utilize that more or just have Atwell as insurance.

With the Center problems the Rams have had, passing on Creed just keeps looking more and more like a huge mistake.
I dig your posts Elmgrovegnome but that shipped has sailed beyond the horizon. I’m hoping Atwell finally contributes but I’m an optimistic homer.

That is a ridicules premise. Why don't you ever actually address my statement about why they went out and got Shelton, instead of your bullshit accusation.

Yes. It sailed long ago. But it keeps coming back to haunt Snead. Creed could have been a day 1 starter.

Regarding Tutu, in general I’m very optimistic about the Rams this season. I just don’t see how his role changes. He is who he is.

I already answered that. If you would actually engage in a conversation and not just choose to argue, you’d see that.

OL is not a weakness for Reid as it is for McVay.

Reid usually gets it right because his background and knowledge of the unit. McVay has struggled with it and often has to gameplan around it.

And next someone will swoop in like I am a McVay hater. But again in context of the original post it is a truth that OL is his biggest problem area on offense.
hater! (SWOOP!)
