I wanted Eddie George over Lawrence Phillips, I also wanted Marvin Harrison over Eddie Kennison. Steve Ortmayer & Rich Brooks were just clueless.

Schad did not work out for the Rams, played decent for the Eagles, however, in the 2nd round the Rams drafted Tom Newberry out of Wisconsin-La Crosse and he worked out just fine.
Brooks went for pure speed over talent.
He wanted a very fast team.
It was a huge mistake.

There were many that were disappointing, but 2 that were extremely frustrating.

Briand Quick and Grob.
They straight pissed me off at times.

Never felt confident in Brooks, I realize many gave him credit because he put Oregon on the map and it was before Philip Hampson Knight really started investing in the program, but Brooks had few winning seasons at Oregon. I really wanted Gene Stallings, who had coached in St. Louis from 86-89 and was doing well at Alabama, but Steve Ormayer liked Brooks, which became Ortmayer's meal ticket at Kentucky.

I hated that fucker. Should have been fired the moment he suggested we trade Bettis.

I agree.
He thought Bettis was too slow.
He wasn't the only one though. Many thought Bettis was washed up.
Which pissed me off, because Bettis was a baller, fighting for every inch behind a shit oline.

Brooks had the right idea of turning his big lumbering ass into a fullback, but Bettis no likely that idea.

Theres no doubt that Bettis would be a beast at Fullback, but he more than proved his worth as a lead back.
The guy was deadly getting 30 carries a game. He would beat the shit out of defences

but for whatever reason, never did?

For me that would be Sam Bradford. Am I right, @-X- ? We sucked so bad to earn that number one draft pick and needed a young stud so badly. We had hope after he dinked and dunked his way to the OROY. But that was the best he'd ever be... :bigcry:

Who is your biggest draft hope, destroyed by reality?
Sam Bradford
