But I remember when I realized the name was bullshit.

I was a kid in elementary school, and some of my classmates were talking smack to each other. Like boys do. And one kid called a native kid a “redskin”. And the teacher heard that, and said you can’t call someone that, because it was a racial insult. To which the kid replied, “but that’s the name of an NFL team”. And our teacher struggled, and stuttered to explain why it was okay for an NFL team to call itself that, but not okay for a person to call someone else by the name. From that moment at 10 years old, figured out it was a dumb name.

How would you feel if the Rams had to change their name because a group of people felt it was offensive?

If Ram was considered a derogatory word then I wouldn't have an issue with it, but it's not so we probably don't need to worry about the Ram lobby filing a complaint.


Admirals is still a stupid name though. I still like red tails or red wolves.

Some suggestions to please the unwashed masses...

1. Entitled Whiteys. Mascot could be a Karen who climbs into a range rover and drives around the stadium pre-game with her cell phone on her ear getting all offended when guards motion for her to leave. I'd go black 'n white with the uniforms with a star just to piss Jerry Jones off.

2. Slavers. Mascot would be George Washington with a whip. Give him a carriage and he can ride around while players pelt him with oranges or something pre-game.

In all seriousness though Snyder's gonna fuck this up. You guys know that right.

My high school was Redskins and recently re-branded to Redhawks, and life went on. Except the facebook comments.

If the team we root for now was re-named The Condors or something silly because a small group of people were offended, I am certain many an opinion on the matter would be quite different

That said, I was hoping they'd stick with The Washington Football Team. I think it sounds pretty cool and has a Euro-Football feel to it. Heck if Ted Lasso can go from Football to soccer, why not bring some soccer back here? Lol

No, like I said it was just a taste.

It wouldn't bother me, more of an annoyance but I'd probably get over it pretty fast.
