According to Locked on Rams podcast Wentz clashed with his teammates on every team he played for and this was the reason he was “chased off those teams” I hadn’t heard this before. Is this true?

I don't how he was with teammates. But the perception around the league was he's difficult to coach. Wants to do things his way. Hopefully he's learned from the negative experiences and is ready to change the perception. We've had history of doing well with perceived problem guys.

Stafford’s is 90.6 (94.0 since he came to LA).

Because a litney of issues come with signing a named backup QB. Also, maybe he was willing to play for the vet min at the beggining of the season. That said, i dont know what we are paying him.

Carson has finally done what he needed to do years ago. He put aside his ego and got help from John Gruden. Gruden is like John Carney for kickers. A whole lot of QBs like PKs their problem is in their head.

Carson has lacked mental discipline more than anything. Gruden can help him with that and give him help in reading defenses pre-snap. That can cut down on his INT rate. If Gruden has helped him in that regard the Rams may have struck gold. The only real difference between Carson and Goff has always been their respective mental discipline. You have to believe that Gruden's recommendation had to be key in this signing. He and McVay have history.

Carson signed a prorated vet minimum deal for this season only. IMO both sides are testing the water. It's interesting to note that Carson is a few years younger than Stafford. If he can put aside his ego for another year he could really benefit from being on the Rams in the same way Baker did. The Rams need stability at QB and Carson can provide that. IMO this doesn't stop them from drafting their QB of the future but it allows them the luxury of giving that QB a true redshirt year. I hope Carson signs a two year deal next year where he can structure contract options into it much like Coleman Shelton has. Now that Shelton is the starting center the Rams will extend him with an appropriate contract next year. The Rams can offer a similar deal to Carson.

Regardless having Wentz makes the Rams more than competitive over the final half of the season. I can't see them finishing less than 9-8. What is unknown is the severity of Stafford's thumb injury. They assume he can start in two weeks but now they have an option to extend his rehab beyond the break if they have to.

Looking at the schedule the only match up issues will be defensively.

Here in AZ apparently they want Kyler Murray to play on Sunday. So it looks like the Rams will face Murray. Morris simply can't leave that short zone undefended. They need to play a one gap scheme and pressure Murray and he will throw INTs. He doesn't study film, so he goes off of memory of when he last played the team. Morris simply needs to change it up on him. Play one gap up front and mix in man with zone (being heavy within 15 yds.) Don't let him sit back there or extend. Force Kyler to make quick decisions from the pocket and he's not good at that.

I always knew Purdy would come down to earth and said so before the season. The same formula to beat Kyler is what Morris must do. IMO the toughest game on the schedule is Baltimore. In all other games the Rams can match up well.

This is a huge signing & we’ll see how Carson does ? His numbers & stats are impressive for a backup QB. Basically IMO The Rams season is over & how they build the foundation is key.

I would rather see Wentz get snaps in games than not, even if Stafford starts. Stafford Struggles, Put in Wentz, Garbage Time, Put him in. Thats the problem with the League with all the injuries. Especailly with our Oline right now. They overwork the starters to the point of breaking. yes they get paid a lot but, if they go down we see a deer in headlights and not a QB. Need reps in games to keep going.

When one of these guys are on point, they are some of the fastest release QBS in the league, so them getting destroyed says something about our Oline. Wentz could be a spark we need with rolling out of the pocket. Hes not as fast as he used to be tho.

Hell Goff is now one of the Best QBS in the League, Mayfield is doing well. Why Not Carson? Welcome To The Rams Carson.
