The guy is having a hissy fit because of what the caveman said in the presser. The refs said they got together after the td and decided the play was an illegal shift. It's an obscure rule so that's plausible. Maybe new York gave them an assist in the ruling and it got lost in the translation.

We don't know what they told the caveman, or what actually happened. It's all speculation. The refs said they didn't get any message from new York. Who ya gonna believe?

Not the refs for damn sure. Do you trust the refs?

To tell you the truth i don't really care. I just didn't like that bald fuck acting like this was the biggest scandal in nfl history.

A td was scored and they reviewed it, like every other td scored in every game in the nfl. Whoopee fucking do.

The refs gave a story that was totally plausible.

To try and say this was worse than years of systematic cheating by the cheats is laughable.

I don't think it's been pointed out yet in this thread, word-for-word, exactly what Craig Wrolstad said to reporters after the game.

Here's the key passage:

Question: What kind of help or assistance, if any, did you have from the replay assistant in Kansas City or from New York?

Wrolstad: “We did not have any assistance from Kansas City or New York.”

Question: So that was just a discussion amongst the crew itself?

Wrolstad: “That’s right.”

So yeah... that's why this controversy is still going on. Because SOMEONE is lying. Either Wrolstad or Campbell, because their statements seem to be in direct contradiction.

Quite honestly, I'm having some trouble finding the VERBATIM, exact words to the letter, of what Dan Campbell said-- on both Sunday night and on Monday. Here's an excerpt from the Detroit Lions website:

After the game, Lions coach Dan Campbell wasn’t eager to talk about the play, but his account is very different when it comes to that last detail.
“Well, it doesn’t matter if I agree or disagree. I know it came from New York,” Campbell said.
At the time, it wasn’t clear if Campbell was making an assumption or told that directly. But during his radio appearance on the “Costa and Jansen show with Heather” Wednesday, Campbell was asked to clarify if he was told directly by an official that the call came from New York. Campbell’s response: “Yeah.”

According to an "AI overview" regarding Campbell's exact words on Monday:

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said "Yeah" when he confirmed on the "Costa & Jansen with Heather Show" that an official told him the call on the Jared Goff play came from New York. When pressed by the hosts on whether he had asked the official why they had said that, Campbell replied, "We asked all of that. We asked all of that, and I can't tell you any of that".

Anyway... I find this to be an interesting controversy. In my opinion, there's still a lack of clarity because someone is clearly lying-- either Dan Campbell or Craig Wrolstad.

Just thought I'd pass along the word-for-word statements, as best I could find out.

I’ll continue to say what an old friend used to say every Raiders game. That they get screwed more than any team in The NFL.
I don’t know if it’s true to this day,but the scheduling as well.
