I thought only subjective penalties weren't reviewable. Like pass interference, either way, and holding.

Illegal shift is a black and white penalty.

.

No penalties are reviewable in the NFL. There was 1 year that the league allowed a challenge on Pass Interference calls (a challenge)... and that was thrown out at the end of that season. Carton knows the NFL rules and he was shocked to hear that the NFL wasn't following their own rules.

That was the point Carton was making and he is absolutely correct. Clearly it went over many people's heads though. It appears as though some people hate this man so much that they allow the hate to blind themselves.

It's not a good look, and it also shows ignorance when you call someone out for not knowing the rules... when in fact... they actually DO KNOW the rules and presented it correctly. Poor form on your part at minimum.

Refs on the field are the ONLY officials who have the authority to call penalties. The office in NY cannot call in and tell the refs to call a penalty after the fact... even if they missed it. Penalties ARE NOT REVIEWABLE.

Yeah... he definitely knows the NFL rules. Now, you're hopefully able to process that and update your understanding of the NFL rules.
Every TD is reviewed by the league. So Detroit scored a TD the league reviewed it and found it illegal. Nothing to see here.

Some Penalties are reviewable now, and all scores are reviewed. If during the replay they picked up a penalty it can be called
Off the top of my head, Too many men on the field, pass interference waived if ball was tipped, illegal forward pass etc. can be reviewed

Really fucking stupid and detached from a reality where Refs are just people and vulnerable to the same kinds of narrative forces that influence people day-in/day-out.
They actually get paid and trained NOT to be vulnerable to the same kinds of narrative forces that influence people day in day out.

Unfortunately, this also explains why they blew the whistle on Verse when he recovered that fumble and was heading towards the end zone.

ZERO penalties are reviewable now.

ZERO

Too many men on the field is not reviewable.

A tipped ball is... but that is not a penalty. It may negate a penalty.... not the same thing.

100%

There was no flag thrown by any ref on that play. I posted that during the game. Absolutely against the rules PERIOD.

The refs can huddle and decide whether to pick up a flag or throw one
Sounds like that is what happened
And it was illegal motion so the right call was made
Not sure I understand the outrage

That's just not true

This is semantics.

This clearly states that the IN-STADIUM REPLAY OFFICIAL can assist on penalties that were called on the field. Not the "officials" in NY who call in.

It also states... In-Stadium replay officials CANNOT call a penalty that was not called on the field by an On-Field ref. AKA.... if no flag is thrown, NO PENALTY CAN BE CALLED AFTER THE FACT. Which is EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED AGAISNT DETROIT. It also happened against the Rams this season as mentioned already.

What Carton stated is 100% fact and truth.

PERIOD

No they didn't... stop trying to change what happened with fantasy.

Go back and listen to what Carton said.... "The office in NY called in and made them find a penalty that was NOT CALLED ON THE FIELD".

Do I need to post it again? It's on page 1 of this thread for those who wish to hear it for themselves what was ACTUALLY SAID.

Talk about trying to move the goal posts. GTFO

The penalty wasnt called after the fact, the extra point wasnt kicked. The refs huddled and discussed the play and decided to throw the flag. That is absolutely legal. Penalties can be called after discussion. Had they kicked the extra point then they couldnt have
I dont understand why so upset over the refs making the right call
BTW, Carton is scumbag degenerate gambler who is using his "recovery" to make millions
Wouldnt be surprised to find out he's gambling again and had a bet on that game

One more time for the confused...

The OFFICE IN NY CALLED IN and made them call a penalty that was not called by the on field refs.

THAT IS 1000% AGAINST NFL RULES.

Not complicated... so stop trying to pollute what actually happened with completely made up imaginary scenarios. Talk about what happened before everyone's fucking eyes and what Dan told everyone who is willing to actually listen.
