I wasn't able to watch the game, I had it DVR'd but I can probably guess what happened: Morris played conservative, let Shanahan and Jimmy G march down the field with all the time in the world, and McVay played a very conservative game with runs every first down. How close did I get?

The 9ers have the roster right now. Adding McCaffrey put them over the top versus the patented Morris soft zone coverage. Add Deebo and the score would be 60-14.

The all in approach has kept the Rams from shoring up weaknesses. But who knows. They might have drafted more tutus instead of quality Olinemen and edge rushers with the picks anyway.

Now I’m wondering if they can beat the Shehawks.

Not even sure what to say. Cant go 3 and out when they just score. Where are the quick slants. Where are teh give and go. The corners are not disciplined. 3 big plays are lack of discipline. You play with discipline and those plays dont happen. I knew it was a problem when we come off a bye week and the first drive is a 3 and out. McVay ran the same dry plays. Why not try role out and go deep with VJ. Nothing targeted his way. Just bad play calling. Very conservative. It is easy to defend.

This team…

I don’t… I can’t…

I tell ya what, I don’t give a single fuck about any acquisitions as long as fucking Bobby Evans is still playing.

Things just didn’t go our way, but damn… we won’t compete this year with this OL and no amount of hopes and dreams will have us win against the oncoming gauntlet of teams we face…
KC is going to destroy this defense and McVay will probably have Stafford and Kupp in with two minutes left in the game down by 40 points.

Hate to be wet noodle, but it doesn’t get much better. The Seahawks are REALLY good without Russ.

Gino is the real deal.

Ehh - we only play Kansas City that is tough

Tampa Bay - they suck
New Orleans - they suck
LV Raiders - they suck
Arizona Cardinals - we have their number
Seattle - I am not impressed with them
Denver - they suck
LA Chargers - somewhat decent team but their defense isn't all that great
Green Bay - they suck but they do have Rodgers

I'm not talking about it either beside us i will keep saying pass rush but there are other issues.

WHAT I FUCKING REALLY WANT TO SAY THOUGH IS ......

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU RUNNING A SCREEN PASS TO KUPP IN GARBAGE TIME? KNOWING THE GUY IS TARGETED AND HIT SO MUCH. WHY GET HIM KILLED IN CLOSE QUARTERS LIKE THAT? RISK INJURY. WHY IS HE EVEN GETTING THE BALL? CALL THAT PLAY FOR A SCRUB OR NO OFFENSE SINCE WE ALL LKE HIM BUT GIVE IT TO BENNY JUST RUN A DIFFERENT PLAY THATS JACKASS SHIT SO UNAWARE!!!!!!

Even the announcer mentioned it second half. Why did the Rams change up their defense to that soft shell. Same shit expecting different results... Shrugs
They got absolutely toyed with when they tried to use more aggressive coverages.

Offensively….the lack of any semblance of a running game makes it *really* hard. Puts way too much pressure on Stafford to be perfect. And we don’t have anyone that can take the top of the defense right now. Everything is intermediate or shorter.

Defensively…the tackling. My god it was bad. They had several runs that shoulda been for no gain or a loss where they ended up with 3-4. We shoulda had two picks at least. The CMC fumble was just bad luck. The soft coverage up and down the field also maddening.

Dumb mistakes and missed opportunities combined with injuries and bad schemes will not compete in this league.

As is this team isn’t good enough.

Grabapole 22-25, thanks Morris

I said at the beginning of the year that they needed to cut Evans. He's not good.

I said in the thread that to beat the 49ers we had to do something different than what we always did. Morris came into this game with the same game plan that didn't work against the 49ers every other time we played them, once again giving the huge cushions and yielding the short passes to them. And here's the stats that Jimmy G had:

21-25, 235 yards, 9.4/att, 2 TD, O INT, 132 rating.

That. Is. SCHEME. And that's on Morris, and McVay too for letting him do it.

Yes, the O only got 14 points, but we moved the ball well for a while. The wheels didn't start falling off until in the 3rd quarter on the drive where, thanks to the shitty scheme, the 49ers drove right down the field and took the lead.

Fuck Morris.

Ramsey drop and Higbee drop were huge. As were getting sucked in with taunting and pathetic pushing of the runner after he is out of bounds.

It was Super Bowl or bust last year. We won the Super Bowl and we are now paying for it. Would rather have the super bowl win than be beating a team in the regular season consistently which is what the whiners do to us.

I hope Kupp is ok. I have seen players walk off on their own after an ACL tear. Meaningless play, bad call.

No ability to run the ball.

Predictable as the tides on defense.

Probably not even a fringe playoff team.

completely dominated on both sides of the ball.

4.0 yards per play on offense

7.0 yards per play on defense

I wonder what it was midway through the 3rd quarter just before the drive where the 49ers took the lead.

Biggest problem might be insanity. Because you have to be insane to waltz out with the same shitty game plan every stinking time and expect a different result. You also have to be insane to think Evans belongs on the football field.

Snead and McVay have done some good things roster wise but the OL is not one of them. Again insanity to believe this OL could get the job done.
