I am sorry for being the one to ask but I've wondered this the entire year: are we seeing a decline in Matt?

Has he had a strong game from start to finish this year?

People, please tell me I'm crazy.
I don't know where he is at in comparison from a stats standpoint but what I will say is before the season I was telling my buddy "He is the best QB1 I've ever seen since I've been a Rams fan" , if you were to ask me now, I would be hedging that call. I appreciate everything he has done for the Rams and I'll probably always give him the benefit of the doubt but he is starting to make me ? that loyalty....lol

He has made some critical mistakes this season, especially in the red zone. All started with that pick in the end zone at Detroit.

I also would of thought he had a few more years in him but I'm not sure that is the case anymore. I hope one more at least but I won't be surprised if he hangs it up after the season.

Same! I'm hedging now when I wasn't at first. Are the Rams seeing the same thing? Could this be the reason they're not committing with guaranteed money beyond this season?

Our kicker made 5 FGs, sort of 6 if not for the penalty. For the first time, I feel confident in our placekicking game. The D gave up only 67 yards rushing on 22 attempts - big step up from the start of the year. Only 238 yards total for the fish. Too bad we let them blow down the field on that opening drive.

Not sure about the shit show on the OL. It was tough to figure if they should have stuck with Limmer at C. Hindsight is 20/20. Joel Notebloom was not good. The lack of protection blew up the O. Stafford missing the TD machine (Kyren) standing open near the goal line was painful.

McVay's decision to go for a FG on 3rd down at the end was bad tactics. I think 100 times out of 100 you should go for the TD, since it would have only cost about 4 seconds on the clock. Then if you magically make the onside kick, you only need one or two completions to get the FG. Am I wrong here? Can Stan K. not afford AI for Sean to ask what to do here?

Just beat the Pats!

I think Stafford was out of sync, maybe due to all the pressure and crappy snaps. He missed a wide open Williams for a TD (throwing it out of the end zone instead), something that he would ordinarily never miss. It was a bad day all around. Just continual screw ups all around.

The offense needs to be better. McVay is headcoach and calls the plays on offense and offense is his area of expertise. It should be the dominant group but it's often inconsistent and the defense has to keep them in it. Also Stafford needs to chill out on throwing interceptions that shit is getting old.

Matt has been uncharacteristically inconsistent.
I would argue that MS has played this way (inconsistently) for his entire career. Even in their SB season he was all over the place.

This offense is expensive and is not earning their paycheck. It's hard to watch this shit when the defense is giving them every opportunity to win. McVay is just not doing a good job this season.... Personnel and scheme decisions are....lame

Yeah he is a QB who runs hot and cold. Who takes risks too, trusting his arm too much when he presses.

But in this offense, when the line is there, he is magnificent. Still makes the mistakes. But you are never out of a game with him.

It is just a shame they cannot get this line playing well from game 1 to game 17. They always start like shit, and find their footing somewhere around midseason.

Also it is a shame they cannot seem to find weapons other than McVay's preferred type, which is big route runners with intelligence and hands. Basically he only seems to have an eye for possession types.

There are only two eras of Rams football where they played in a consistent manner....... 1999-2001 Kurt Warner era and 2016 Todd Gurley era.

This year every game has been a nightmare up and down with us losing most of them. What kills me the most is how boring our offense has been since the Super Bowl.

McVay either refuses to adjust because his ego is too big. Or he is unable too. I honestly think Stan needs to force him to relinquish some control.

It's the offensive line being inconsistent that's not giving Matt Stafford confidence consistently.
In my opinion.

.

If you take out the Vikings game.

8 games, 5 tds, 6 ints.

That's an embarrassing stat line. That's a stat line qbs who are the brunt of ridicule produce for their teams.

What's going on with Mcvay and Stafford?

There no spark in the offense at all. Dull and dreary. Probably because Stafford has missed so many opportunities so the offense goes nowhere.

Can they please get their heads out of their arses.

So why change an OL that has given up the grand total of zero sacks over the last two games?

Oh, I know: $$$$
I'm going to go with stupidity as the reason they changed the offensive line.
Hell, we already spent the money.
I'd let those expensive players realize they have to work to get there spots back.
This is the NFL which stands for;
Not For Long
I can't believe between McVay and Snead's experience they couldn't figure out that you don't just trash an offensive line that is working.
They should immediately go back to
Jackson
Dedich
Limmer
Dotson
Havenstein (if he's ready) and if not, Steve Avila.

Hopefully, Big Rob will be back next week.

That should be the OL for the rest of the season, injuries permitting.

The Rams simply have to swallow their pride and accept that signing Jonah was a mistake.

It’s all right: we all make them.
