Marquise Brown played just two games in 2024 due to an injury but got one-year and $11M.
Dyami Brown got one-year and $10M.
Darius Slayton and Joshua Palmer both got three-year deals and $36M (average of $12M-per).
Atwell's 2024 numbers were as good or better than those of Brown, Slayton and Palmer.

Was DeSean a locker room cancer with the Rams? I heard nothing of the sort.
It doesn't appear that they released him because of this so-called cancerous behavior. In fact, according to McVay & DeSean HE asked to be released because of his lack of opportunities. Besides, he was about 35 years old. How much longer was he supposed to play?
But, regardless of what happened to Jackson after he left, he made plays when given the opportunity with the Rams. He just didn't get as many due to the way the offense was set up at the time. Opportunity. Not lack of talent.
It's the same thing with the TEs. Opportunity. Some here, are even calling for the Rams to trade for Mark Andrews. If they did and the passing offense still went through Adams and Puka I guess some would be saying that he didn't have it either due to his limited chances.
BTW, I don't consider myself a loyal fan of Tutu. I'm far more team focused than player focused when it comes to fandom. I just disagree with your take on the subject.

Desean was a child who required more reinforcement and focus in the offense than he deserved and also more than Coach was willing to give him. The fact he was kicked to the curb during the season says it all.
But even with all his problems he was twice the wideout Tutu is. Tutu will never be what Desean was. Which to my mind wasn't all that much.

Jackson has played just 100 snaps on offense (23%) and has caught eight passes for 221 yards, showing flashes of being an impactful player. The playing time and opportunities just haven’t been there for him and McVay understands why he might not be satisfied with his role.
“I think the frustration is he’s got a lot of skill sets. He’s got a lot of great ability to offer. He just wanted to be able to help a little bit more than what he’s been given the opportunities,” McVay added.

Jackson said: “When I left midway through that year in 2021 because they brought me in to play a role, because the year before that, they had Brandin Cooks, and he was, like, doing all the deep stuff.
“Sean McVay, he was with me on Washington. He called me, ‘he’s like, I need you to come fulfill that role’.
“So I come. They use me a little bit then, like, midway through the season, they wasn’t really using it no more.”
Jackson said he held talks with Sean McVay and did not see the situation changing, and sought a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders.
“I went in this office. I’m like, coach, what’s up? Like, what we doing?
“And that’s the year Cooper Kupp was going crazy. Cooper Kupp ain’t even fast like that, but he getting down the field. That’s what I want right.
“So I went to coach and it’s just not working out. So the middle of that year, I ended up leaving and going to play for the Las Vegas Raiders.”

Everything about the signing surprised me. First and foremost, I don’t know why Atwell would have WANTED to stay. I guess that’s why it took $10mil. For his career’s sake, he just wasn’t going anywhere as a Ram. He only got regular targets when the starters were hurt. Maybe $10mil was more than anyone else offered and it convinced Atwell he was going to see more action.
Why was it so important for the Rams to bring him back if they didn’t envision more use? I don’t believe this is what the plan was for either side when that $10 million contract was inked.
I like Atwell. I was ready to wish him luck and then see all of the “we shoulda kept him” posts while he enjoyed a breakout season SOMEWHERE ELSE. When the Rams re-signed him, I thought he was gonna get his chance as a Ram. It’s just not happening. I feel for the guy, but he took the $$.
There sure is. The Rams were all about "We not me" and DJax was the polar opposite.
His signing made little sense at the time other than the hope that he had changed.
He didnt and he was gone. That is exactly how and what happened and trying to paint a different picture is just silly

But what is also true is that his lack of opportunities is the is the reason HE wanted out.
And there is no record of any cancerous behavior that caused the Rams to just dump him like as is being suggested. He initiated the conversation.
And if the view was that he'd serve a Brandin Cooks type of role, then the signing did make sense. The offense just changed that's all. It happens.
