Like the Rams, the player they draft at #21 isnt going to be the difference maker for their team's success. Only way that player makes an impact is due to injury, which can also include QBThe one thing about that team is, even if unrealistic, they need to at least win a playoff gane next year or they could finally move on from Tomlin and maybe it hits their FO as well.
They have vets like Watt, Heyward, and Tomlin has to win a playoff gane at some point. So if they add Rodgers, they could be in a win now mode and may not be willing to spend a 1st on a QB who won't help this year.
Rodgers has paid his dues with cold climates. Green Bay, New York and now they want him in Pittsburgh, where he will have to play in Baltimore, Cleveland & Cincinnati, plus Pittsburgh for 9 games? Not even sure Rodgers will end up there, he doesnt want to be there and everyone knows it

I think we overestimate how much subterfuge and maneuvering these front offices do ahead of the draft. It’s possible Snead has mentioned Dart to generate momentum for the player which helps our chances of trading out of 26 to a QB needy team like the Browns.
This ain’t checkers, it’s chess.
I don't know, a good player at DL, CB, OL, certainly could be a big help. Look what Verse did for us.Like the Rams, the player they draft at #21 isnt going to be the difference maker for their team's success. Only way that player makes an impact is due to injury, which can also include QB

I'd be beyond shocked if the Rams were to take a QB with any of their top 3 picks.Count me in with the group that says if Dart is there at #26, they should take him
Verse was a day 1 starter, you arent drafting a day 1 starter for DL, CB or OLI don't know, a good player at DL, CB, OL, certainly could be a big help. Look what Verse did for us.
And they likely wont. Whoever they draft will be depth and a future starter. Dart will be gone long before 26, so there's really no point in debating his valueSo they'll want their 1st round pick to contribute right away.
I shouldn't have said "right away"-- I meant "sometime in their first season." Given the frequency of injuries, I definitely could see a first-round pick being pressed into action at CB, ILB, OT, TE, or even WR.And they likely wont. I don’t. These guys are all playing high stakes poker.I think we overestimate how much subterfuge and maneuvering these front offices do ahead of the draft.
Not sure how you can say that about Pittsburgh. You don't think a day 1 starter could be there at 21 for them?Verse was a day 1 starter, you arent drafting a day 1 starter for DL, CB or OL
And our 2nd string QB hasnt played a full season in forever. See: Brock Purdy's opportunityBut a 3rd string QB... one hopes they never see the field.
Barron absolutely could start day 1.Verse was a day 1 starter, you arent drafting a day 1 starter for DL, CB or OL
He's one of the few guys that I would trade up for. Seriously doubt he's there at 26.Barron absolutely could start day 1.
Verse wasn’t supposed to fall that far. If the same scenario occurs with a CB, he’ll start.Verse was a day 1 starter, you arent drafting a day 1 starter for DL, CB or OL
