Respectfully, I disagree. We don't need draft capital. Look at the contracts on this team and the ages of those players.

Donald: in his 30s
Stafford: 34
Kupp: either approaching 30 or already there
Ramsey: approaching 30
Wagner: in his 30s

These guys will be gone soon and we'll be blowing it up anyway. No time to :
1. Hope we hit on a draft pick
2. Hope that draft pick gives immediate returns so not to waste the remaining years of the players above.

We need to do what we've been doing. Using the draft picks to bring in players who are ready to go right now (Chubb, Hunt, etc.) Because when Donald and Stafford retire it's a rebuild regardless.
I mean honestly, these guys ages are one of the reasons we likely shouldn't be trading away our 1st round picks. How are we going to replace them, in particular Stafford? Not likely with 4th-7th round prospects. Personally, I'm not wanting to go back to 90s horrendous-ness when these guys leave. If I'm the FO, I'm not touching our future 1st and 2nds. We need young cheap talent at some point.

And paid the roster bonus.....
It was a nice gesture on our part, however - A) It wasn't a smart FO move, we could have gotten more for him assuredly. B) Did we really do him any favors? Titans pass game is anemic at best and he's having a very sub par year.

You can't replace them. But picks right now doesn't mean you won't have picks by 2024 or 25 when this is all said and done.

It was a terrible trade. The only thing about it that made sense was that they made the trade prior to the bonus payout, which at the time appeared to have saved them cap space. When they ended up paying it as well it became laughable.

He had speed also, something this group of receivers doesn't have. Kupp 4.57, Robinson 4.62, Jefferson 4.48, Skow 4.71, Atwell 4.27, and McCutcheon 4.65.

Well Atwell has speed but can't block worth a shit

Woods could block as well. Possibly one of the best blocking WRs in the game.

The fact we're looking for receivers when we have more basic problems is crazy to me. Pissing away a futures pick for a JAG like Cooks is fucking stupid. He will not move the needle for us when the issue is protections. Only way he makes sense is if it's a one-for-one where we give them Tutu for him. Because Tutu looks like a bust at this point. No reason to think otherwise.

We are unlikely to be able to win a bid on a good OL if one comes available before this window. Same with Edge. We don't have the pieces for that.

So what to do. The goal should be what do we need to not be embarrassed the rest of the schedule. What can we trade for that is affordable and helps us. The answer is obvious. RB. Just don't give up too much because this offseason is going to be a mini-rebuild.

RB certainly seems like it will be the easiest hole to fill. I really like Rivers in space but they need a guy to see the holes and hit the holes fast. A burner would be nice but is not exactly necessary. Just another Michel or a little more would do.

I’m guessing once Williams is back the Little Rivers Band will be back to the practice squad.

Come to think about it maybe the mini rebuild should go on every winter. Running it back with the same exact crew didn’t work out too well for Tampa Bay. Maybe the Rams did too little this past winter. Run game and edge pressure we’re both problems last season. Once Von left that should have been problem one to fix. It’s not like there was nobody available. Houston, Hughes, Dunbar, etc… Get a couple vets and limit their snaps. It was better than counting on the two guys they felt that they needed to upgrade last fall.

Maybe so. Either way I am sure that 20 years from now one of Les' greatest regrets will be not getting Von done. Seems stupid to let Buffalo get him on guaranteed numbers in year three or whatever it was. When, as you said, they knew damn well their rush was poor before they got him.

But yeah if you want to compete in this league you can't afford to not have a good rush. So they didn't do a good enough job on that front. Same with OL. You can't win with a shit OL. Nobody is an offensive genius when his QB is on his back. No WCO attack looks good when it is 100% pass and defenses know it.

We're in quite a painful situation here. But on the plus side we found our LT of the future most likely and Stafford looked really sharp prior to the onslaught in the second half. So this team will undoubtedly still win plenty of games even if they aren't a factor to contend.

I honestly would be happy if we just got Sony Michel back. He at least falls forward few a few yards unlike anyone currently in the roster. I don't feel like Kamara or Hunt will happen. My vote wote be Antonio Gibson if I got the choice though.

I just think this defense would be better with Von than it is with Wagner.
Jones would've been the main LB.. and they might have run more Dime sets..
But they would've had a significantly better pass rush.

It's not even a question how much better we'd be with Von. But that's not the only reason why the season got derailed. Sometimes the injury bug bites and there's not much you can do. We have the #32nd ranked rushing attack and have started more starting OL combinations than any other team in the NFL. Our offense doesn't stand a chance to be successful when you're that one dimensional and have a bad OL. Without running the ball, we cant be balanced, we cant stay in manageable downs and keep teams guessing. Plus its hard to keep your defense off the field. The root of our problem is the OL which is why trading for a WR is laughable and why I dont think this year is salvageable with any trade we make. Look at the SB teams we've had versus the 2019 and 2022 teams. It's easy to see the root cause of the issues.

Don't disagree with much of this.
I think the first 9ers game or Cowboys game may have turned out differently with a Von Miller, but that's conjecture.

Dont know how much speed he has left. Either way, my point wasnt whether or not he should have been traded, just that they got literally no value at all.

I've said it a million times yes the o-line sucks but it can't be fixed rt away or maybe at all this year. However you can make your defense better by adding an edge. Perhaps ending dink dunk drives getting turnovers of whatever kind ints strip sacks etc (And I know we should have had at least 3 yesterday).

The major point is extra possessions since we suck terribly offensively rt now perhaps some extra possessions we may move the ball just enough to get 3 pts with gay or an extra TD which would make a world of difference. Win some ugly games or don't win at all.
