Is anyone else concerned that Bennett is already having shoulder issues? Is it just soreness from overthrowing or is there some structural damage?

It's a fair thing to be concerned over. But personally I'm not sweating it or the backup position in general because if 9 misses significant time we are going to draft much higher than usual.

Donald 32, Stafford 35, Kupp 30. If the season goes sideways the Team should take a hard look at trading them to playoff contenders to help the rebuild.

The best move of the off-season was saving our 1st rounder!

The question becomes at what point do we tank for Caleb Williams? Because that kid is generational.
What if Caleb gets hurt in December? He’s got the rest of the season to play. What if he’s not able? Just asking.

Just curious, but who stated anything like THAT??? Yeah, that doesn't make sense at all. I said MS could restructure to go to a GOOD team ( Miami was mentioned) if they lose their starter to injury. I'm not a cap guru, but I would expect there would be a way to make it happen without him, or the Rams losing their ass, haha. It is entirely possible that I am wrong, however. I was wrong once in the 90s......so I'm due for another mistake.
Yeah you’re wrong. A lot of the dead cap is money already paid out to Stafford in the form of bonuses that has been stretched out over the next 3 years. Only way is maybe ask Kelly Stafford to give them millions back. Maybe you could chat with her. Won’t change anything but if would be an interesting conversation. Please share her response.

Sounds like you’re not buying into the 2 year plan. Remember It’s ALL about another run in 2024.

My, aren't you a spicy rookie. Cool, thanks for the heads up and recommendation. I will give Kelly your regards.

0-0 at the moment and football’s back. Not gonna write off the season before game 1…

We used to wait till week 8 before we did this in the Spags/Linehan days

So it’s worse it’s now under Mcvay ?

IMO- the strength of schedules tough, but The Rams will compete for the playoffs.

I'm having to shake my head at folks who are talking about the Rams being the worst team in the NFC West and maybe in the NFL.

Feels like McVay alone means they don't finish that poorly, absent overwhelming injuries like last year.

I can see it both ways but lean towards bad year. If this team overachieves this year, I'll call it McVay's best coaching year plus it'll mean limited injuries too. However its possible for us to hit hard times if we have any injuries to key positions. Shoot, Kupp is already out so that's tough. Just gonna watch the games with zero expectations is the plan. This is a tryout year with an eye on 2024.

Yeah lets look at the record and that will tell us EVERYTHING we need to know. Just like in preseason. Look at the scores and it's clear, the team can't play worth a shit, so we're cooked. :woozy2:I love the planning some fans construct.......before a single snap is taken. IF this, then that because clearly........

The Rams on offense are as good as any team in The NFL!

The optimist in me sees an offense with real upside.
Key is, of course, the offensive line. If it's good, the offense has a chance to be pretty darn good. Top ten.
If we're talking best case scenario, Akers can get the job done on the ground and Williams looks ready to contribute.. Higbee is healthy and Hopkins is playing for a contract and Davis looks promising... Stafford, by all accounts, looks DAMN good.. and they have enough talent at WR to be functional without Kupp.
Again.. it's about the line. If they're moving people in the run game and protecting Stafford? Good offense. If not? Rough season.

The defense.... I have no idea and no reason to believe they'll be even middle of the pack. Definitely a bottom-third of the league unit and that may be optimistic.

It already feels like a tear down on that side of the ball.

If they are gonna make another run with the 3 stars as the core, its gonna have to be real soon. How much longer can Donald play at an elite level? Stafford is 35. For all we know Kupp could be starting to break down. They relied heavily on him for a year and a half. They can't be realistically thinking this is a 2 or 3 year rebuild.

I believe we have elite coaching, culture, and attractiveness to players (L.A., culture). (I've personally downgraded my faith in our talent evaluation a tad lately.) I think our cap health will allow us to bring in some help and shore things up for next season, so hopefully our Big 3 can hold on for a year vitality-wise.
