Animal temperament is definitely a variable, but all things being equal...a 50 lb dog has no chance vs a 50 lb cat.
My dog would just lick your hand and you'd happily give him the ball or throw it so he would bring it back to you for another go. Of course in MY dog's case, he'd take the ball, swim around, and drop it in the water, and never bring it back.Yeah well....

Ever watch videos of Hyenas vs Leopards or Cheatas? Pretty similar weight. My money is on the Hyena in most cases.Animal temperament is definitely a variable, but all things being equal...a 50 lb dog has no chance vs a 50 lb cat.
Only if the Hyena's learned some martial arts...or brought guns.Ever watch videos of Hyenas vs Leopards or Cheatas? Pretty similar weight. My money is on the Hyena in most cases.

It's funny because I was just watching a documentary the other day with my wife and I made the comment, "How many of these animals do you suppose a cat has to kill before it gets a meal?" One Hyena would come in and chase the damn thing up a tree an steal its prey. Hell - in one of them a lone Hyena stole a kill from two of them and left them sitting in a tree watching. Another one had a pack of the little devil dogs chasing off a lioness and lion. These cats were clearly bigger than the total weight of Hyenas - yet they backed off. Pound for pound? I go Hyena. Wild cat vs wild dog... victory - dog. Domestic cat vs domestic dog... victory - dog. Show me a heard of cats that will win out over a single Pit or Akita.Only if the Hyena's learned some martial arts...or brought guns.
Huh? Ok... so they are neither. But THAT's no fun.Hyenas are more closely related to cats, not dogs.
Huh?
OK - Cage match.... Wolf vs Cougar. Let's bring it!
I guess I'm the only one who likes both?
I like pretty much all animals. They all have different evolutionary paths which brought them to where they are now. Dogs are more personable because they're more domesticated, cats on the other hand are usually "meaner" because they're closer to nature.
Knowledge may be half the battle, but overwhelming violence is the other half.
Dogs have knowledge to help them. Cats use overwhelming violence.
Both are cool.
I think I have a new favorite ROD person.Knowledge may be half the battle, but overwhelming violence is the other half.
I guess you just browsed your way through the thread and decided this?I guess I'm the only one who likes both?
