:laugh4: Well sure in 71 I was 14. I thought you were talking about the 1979 Pirates/Orioles series when Pittsburgh was down 3-1 to Baltimore. My mistake!!!! But yeah, I'm old.
Yeah ... Tano's original post mentioned Clemente, Stargell and Sanguillen. That was 1971.

Stargell was still around in 1979 but the other two were long gone. Clemente tragically in a plane crash.

Nope - I was referring to the 1971 series with Brooks Robinson and Willie Stargell Manny Sanguien (SP) and Roberto Clemente

Niner fans all over my FB feed trashing the Rams and Seahawks for only having two SB titles in 50 years. Al Bundy is a very apt analogy.
What would we call that? Creative math? The last 50 years? What percentage of niner fans 12 years old or more, back then, are still alive today?

Why not use recent (meaning relevant) history. Say the last 30 years.

Super Bowl appearances >>>>>>> LA Rams 4, Seattle 4, San Francisco 3

Super Bowl Titles >>>>>>>> LA Rams 2, Seattle 2, San Francisco 0

Who the fuck cares about a time when NFL owners were more like enslavers than good employers? What should we call any forty niner fan who makes that statement ("the last 50 years") having to go back a half century to even resemble a decent argument?

Assholes???
Morons????
Living in the past???
Living off distant memories???
Or just plain envious????

They have a 5-4 advantage in NFL championships. Big whoop.
And the whiners haven't won one since free agency truly became a thing. It took a couple more years to really start affecting them. Basically, they lost Pierce Holt in the years leading up to their last SB win. BFD.

Yep. An original comment slagged the Rams for only 2 titles in 30 years, how that is less than the Niners five. Which it is...and then suddenly within minutes the goal-posts are moved and it's a 50-year timeline.
