I never "got" this (and neither did Pete Rose). It doesn't matter who you bet on, it was betting period. Though I don't see the problem with betting now that Draft Kings has PARTNERED with the NFL. The fear leagues had with betting is getting in deep with the bookies and having Carmine, Angelo or Vinny the Gooch make you an offer you can't refuse. But betting on you own team with draft kings? Why not? You can't control if your team wins as much as you can control them losing. So betting against them is taboo. If these athletes get in too deep with draft kings, DK is not going to send Kurt Warner or some other celeb out to collect or make you an offer you can't refuse.

Having said all that, fuck Sorsby. I'll lay 9 to 5 odds he's out of football in 2 - 3 years because of gambling. :laugh4:
I think they still can, albeit to a lesser extent. Guarantee that Cosa Nostra, as well as other organized crime factions, have their hands in sports gambling (and with a similar scheme - and more - that the coach of the Pistons, Billups, got nailed with); it's easy to get hooked, it's easy to lose money, and it's easy to take advantage of.

I think it's an utterly horrible thing that gambling sites like DraftKings now have their fingers in every sport in America to the point where it's normalized (which disgusts me to no end; I have an old friend who's lost a lot of money with sports gambling on DraftKings, so it's definitely not just players/coaches/GMs who are badly affected), but that's a topic I'm not willing to elaborate more with, for fear of breaking forum rules.

Yeah, we are headed for an epic gambling scandal that will determine a champion in one of these sports. Bound to happen.
