Probably gonna be a short thread on this one or not lol.....but do the Rams take a flyer on this guy if all it requires is a day 3 pick? Apparently this might be what it takes due to his gambling issue.

Like Art Schlichter before him, gamblers are terrible risks. How many times did Schichter end up in prison over all of his gambling issues, not to mention forfeited a potentially great career?

From recent news:

After being drafted by the Baltimore Colts in 1982, Schlichter was gambling big money. From January to March of 1983, Schlichter reportedly lost $389,000 to Baltimore-area bookies. In May, it was reported that the FBI had launched an investigation into Schlichter's gambling at Ohio State.

Weeks later, just over a year after being that first-round pick, NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle suspended Schlichter from the league indefinitely......

I would do a hard pass on any gambler, if I were an NFL exec.

I think he goes higher then 3rd round IMO. He was projected as a 1st rounder in a great QB draft. 2nd is the floor for him I believe. And no.

You only take him if he is available with a 5th rd or later, and the goal would be to flip him and get a top 50 pick back in a year. Having said that, it just complicates things so I would be shocked if they would even do that. Plus, his gambling issue is a concern. You have to be careful with that stuff and it wouldn't be worth the distraction in that regard either.

Snead and his people can study the film, have McVay interview and study the guy. If their consensus is "yes", go for it. If not, pass. If McVay is jumping into the swimming pool after spending time with the guy, spend a high asset. TJ Simpson/Ty Rubley can compete.

taking him means the Rams have zero faith in Simpson, which means the Rams wasted a top 15 pick. So, no. No QBs until we see what we have after some development happens
Not if they dumped Bennett. You'd essentially have 2 rookies competing while developing. I think its extremely unlikely but figured just to throw it out there for no particular reason.

I like Sorsby's traits. But after investing a 13th overall pick on Simpson there's no way in hell that's gonna happen.

I’d be shocked if we grabbed him. No wait…. DISMAYED!
