ok, so youre out of ...ummmms. I can feel the eye rolls without it. Look, If the offense knows debo is going to get ramsey every play they will go elswhere. If he plays up at the line, as the so called best corner in the NFL should be able to do, debo will be shut down, right. I mean debo isn't near the best reciever and if ramsey is truly the best what are we talking about. The fact that he has scored all but one of his tds when ramsey is not on him confirms that. Your're saying, hey, what we're doing to stop debo from scoring a td is our best option. No, it's not.

I’m saying stopping the other team from scoring is what’s important.

Yes.. mixing up coverages is what teams in the NFL do.

The Rams do that.. just like other teams.

And.. again.. He was on Deebo for that huge gain at end of week 18 game.

If Kendrick makes the tackle, we aren’t even talking.

If RAMSEY makes the tackle.. we’re not talking.

none of your post makes a point for NOT having ramsey cover him every play. We have the best CB in the league. That means we should have an advantge in our coverage, right? So lets use that. Of course he's not perfect. there will be the occassional big play but the whole reason you give up what the rams did to get ramsy is to shut down the oppossing teams number 1 threat. If thats not the case, why not just get a handful of very good cover corners. A "shut down" should be a fucking shut down corner. Not a "piece" of a bend dont break secondary.

It doesn’t make points because you disagree with the concept.

You don’t believe that coordinators like to keep presenting different looks and believe that having Ramsey chase makes it that much easier for an offense. It’s one problem instantly solved.

Chase what.? The 2nd and 3rd recievers'? How does taking out the top wideout with one defensive player not benefit the defense? You're defending a defensive concept that has proven NOT to work. Having the best corner in the league should be worth something, right. So what is that worth to you. Morris is in the UNIQUE poistion of having ramsey so why play it conservitive or conventional?

I’m sorry, I’m gonna kick out here.

This is what defenses do in the NFL now.
No one has their best CB follow the other team’s #1 WR full time, for numerous reasons.

Don’t believe me? Fine.

But as columbo would say.... there's just one more thing; Defenses may not have their best CB follow the other team's #1 WR probably because they dont have THE BEST cb. So your reasoning says why even have the best CB since youre just going to use him as a piece, right? What exactly is having the best CB worth if not to shut down the other team's top option?
 
The soft cushions suck to watch, but the D is keeping the scoring down. I think McVay has a hand in how the D is played. They have played soft coverage at the start of every season McVay has been here. I'm sure there are some fire Wade threads around here somewhere. And I know we all hated how Staley played off coverage at the beginning of the season he was here. And all 3 DCs have had the D playing tight smothering coverage come playoff time.

I was thinking the same thing. And while you’re at it, put Lance McCutchon in too. They seemed to have some chemistry together. Give Stafford a break to heal up from the pounding he took.

I hope you're right but it absolutely makes my testicles crinkle up to watch teams shove our offensive line around will simultaneously shutting down our passing and running attack.

Not a good look for the world champions.

Then you look at the chances we had to draft some real surefire studs on the o line.

Instead we're still playing around with guys like Tutu.

I would have never but the online get in this condition.
