A few thoughts here:
1) Woods is just not an ideal fit for Stafford. We saw that last year and although he's a tremendous leader and great intermediate possession receiver and blocker, we just added a better overall WR in Robinson that better fits Stafford's skill set.
2) Coming off an ACL tear at 30yrs old and due $16M, it's a lot of money. This is why we didn't get great compensation for him, TEN is taking the contract obviously. Having three WRs all making $15M+ is insane.
3) We obviously want to sign OBJ and keep him around for more than just next year I'd guess. There's a good chance we end 2022 and enter 2023 with Kupp/Robinson/OBJ which would be the best trio in the NFL.
4) We invested multiple 2nd round picks in Van Jefferson and Tutu Atwell. They're both very young, we cant just give up and waste those picks by putting them at #5 and #6 on the depth chart. Now they should get some snaps and hopefully develop their games.
5) Rob has been tremendous for the Rams and I hate seeing him go but I get it. Wonderful captain, teammate, leader, SoCal kid. Wish him all the best in TEN and beyond.
