You could probably here me screaming in that video.

Heard some of the 2 interviews live. Cam Akers has his mind set right. When I was leaving during his last interview I heard him say being a WE(team)player, blocking, catching, running, winning.

I didn’t think he worked that much on his triceps.Just saying that as of muscle(swimming).

What's not to like with Cam?
Agreed. I've always liked him. Last season rubbed me the wrong way but I think the way it ended was a real exclamation of who was right. So I'm definitely pulling hard for him to have a great year. If he can stay healthy it should be his best.

Just returned home from seeing Camp today.
This will not be a long report ...... too many disctractions and blocked views from the stands that kept me from getting a good view of certain drills and scrimmaging.

- Punt return drill: Austin trammel, Xavier Smith, Puca Nacua, and Kyren WIlliams taking Reps today. I think Tutu did take some Reps later in practice. WIlliams and Smith seem to be the 2 that lloked the most smooth, although Smith did muff 1.

-ILB drills: THey run this drill in ppairs, just like how they would play on the fiels. Rozebook was with Ernest Jones, and then you either Anyalebechi or Wooden running with Jake Hummel in the second group. The group in general looked pedestriam ; nothing stood out.

11 on 11: In general it was a good day for TE's 1&2 ; Higbee & Hopkins. ON running plays, they would sometimes go in motion, and on the snap, dive into the "B" gap to block down on the DE/OLB or straight up on an ILB. The RB's had a few 10-15 yard gains getting through this gap. In the passing game, both had a number of catches. HIgbee had a nice TD grab form 15 yards out, and Hopkins duplicated it with a leaping grab over the middle for a score. Hopkins then caught a couple short yardage TD's to give him 3 on the day. There was a big drop off from these 2 to SIms & Kalinic, and with Allen out with a Hamstring and did not see Hunter Long on the field.

D-line groupings: 1st unit, including OLB's was Hoecht, Copeland, Turner, Donald, B. Young ; noteworthy that Kobie Turner was playing NT. 2nd unit: Mathis, E Brown, B Brown, D JOhnson, Hampton
There were many plays were they dropped 1 of the LIneman and lined up with 4, including the 2 OLB's... for example:
Hoecht, E Brown, D Johnson, D Hardy .... and few plays later, B young, K Turner, D Murchison, O Mathis

O-line groupings: 1st unit: LT A Jackson, LG Avila, C Shelton. RG Anchrum, RT Havenstein
2nd unit: LT Noteboom, Z Thomas, Allen, G MIller, RT Acuri
Run blocking was consistently good. However, pass blocking had some breakdowns. If it was live play, Aleric Jackson would have given up 3 sacks today. Going to need to see some improvement there.

Stafford did not participate on the field today. Bennet and Rypien took most of the Reps in 11-on-11. There were a couple of design Runs for Bennet. There was a play that fakes a Jet sweep to the WR and then Bennet reverese pivots and goes the other way. This play will catch some defense napping one day......

Of the WR's,Puca is getting a lot of reps along with Demarcus Robinson. It was only 1 day so far for me, but is he continues to play like this, Robinson may be WR3.

Last note... it is good to see some added size with the CB group. Having Witherspoon and Gray , both at 6'2" , balances out that group.
... After practive, some of the DB's stayed behind to work... Witherspoon and Rochelle were working on technique together. I was happy to see to the veteran working with Rochelle.

Made it out to camp today just got finished sorting through my recorded notes. went by jersey numbers and replaced them with names when I got home, could be a couple mistakes.

Came in to the field area and wanted to make my way to the far side of the field, found out that going left was the wrong way to go, got stopped at the VIP section so had to go back the other way. When I got down to the end of the close field I stopped when I saw the QBs going through footwork/passing drills. First thing I noticed other than everyone was in full pads(!!)was no Matthew Safford. Watched Bennett, Rypien, and Winn run back and forth over a Pad between their feet. I made my way to the far field and stopped at the corner of the endzone when I saw some open space at the fence.

Special teams was going through full 11 on 11 punt and punt return drills. Ethan Evans was taking the snap with Skowronek in protection unfortunetly a machine would launch the ball to simulate the punt, a little dissapointing as I wanted to see Evans leg. Xavier Smith, Puka, Tutu, and Kyren Williams were on returns. They would rotate fielding 3 kicks in a row and on the third kick they'd set up for the return. Smith muffed one of his, Puka got around the right edge on one and looked like he could have gone all the way. Williams also got around the right edge on one of his returns.

Next the DB's came over to do some drills. They started off practicing getting off blocks then did some, quick twitch footwork drills.

Tre Tomlinson is short but he's pretty stocky and quick and showed great change of direction.
Russ Yeast looked pretty fast.
Rochell fell down on start and stop drill.
Quentin Lake dropped a ball on a drop and comeback drill.
Number 39 Quindell Johnson slow to react
Number 22 Sean Jolly not very fluid when he runs

Linebackers were at the far end of the field at the same time doing pass Rush drills and practicing swatting the ball out of the QB's hand. Next were doing coverage drills.

Morris came over to coach up the DBs seemed pretty in their faces. Then I heard the coaches yell "Redzone" and everyone came running over to the endzone that I was camped out at (!!)

Started off with a fade from Bennett to Kupp coming right at me ball went right through Cooper's hands (!?!) Coop made up for it a few plays later on another pass from Bennett that he went to the ground to make the catch.

Nice TD catch by Lance McCutcheon over the middle from Bennett

Hopkins ran a good route sold the out and cut inside for the touchdown

Nice TD catch by Tyler Johnson on a fade from Rypien.

Nikola Kalinic seemed to turn the wrong way he cut in and the ball from Bennett went out to the corner.

Hi leaping grab by Higbee for a touchdown in the back of the endzone on a pass from Bennett.
Good coverage by 43 Rashad Torrence on Nikola Kalinic, swatted the pass from Winn
Nikola Kalinic looks slow

After the Redzone session it was time for 11/11 they would start at the far end of the field and work there way towards my end.

Rypien and 2nd string takes over comes to the line had to go back and re-huddle up then Rypien throws a dart over the middle to Demarcus Robinson DB fell down didn't see who.

Hand off to Kyren Williams nice movement inside, got to the linebackers before he was even touched

Jet Sweep to Tyler Johnson went nowhere. D has been all over those plays.

Ronnie Rivers off left tackle Tre Tomlinson fills the hole to stuff the run for a short gain.

Nice quick pass from Bennett to Kyren in the right flat nice run after the catch for about 7 yards

Nice quick hit play action by Bennett completes the pass to Higbee over the middle for a possible touchdown.

Cam Akers off right lowers his head again through the line just looking for contact.

Cam Akers collision course with AD who was double teamed sheds the block to make the play

Third line Zach Thomas Sean Maginn, Center? Mike McAllister, and Grant Miller. Miller got stood up then pulled down by Keir Thomas, rag dolled!

Hopkins leaping grab at the goal line dart over the middle from Rypien.

TE Christian Sims holding his own against Byron Young

Rypien nice 10 yrd pass to Skowronek on the sideline

Rypien getting some time with the starters

Hand off to Cam Akers he breaks another one to the right outside would’ve been a long gain.

Bennett rolls out to the right and keeps running couldn’t find anyone open gained about 7 or 8 yards

Another line conbination can’t see left tackle Zach Thomas at left guard, Brian Allen at center,
Grant Miller at right guard, AJ Acuri at right tackle

Bennett drops back can’t find anyone open runs to the left out of bounds, good coverage.

Nice coverage by Witherspoon undercut Higbee on pass from Bennett, knocked it down
The OLine was being rotated often saw both Jackson and Noteboom at left tackle saw Brian Allen with the 1's 2's and 3's didn't see who else was lining up at Center.

Back to punt coverage drills still no actual punting

One more 11 on 11 play then practicing getting the punt team on to the field.

Starters back with Bennett under center for more 11/11

DLine B Young, M. Copeland, AD, Kobe Turner

Nice pass by number Rypien to Zach Evans on a right side wheel route for about 10-12 yards

Bennett nowhere to throw, too long in the pocket Hoecht swats the ball out of his hand

Bobby Brown stuffs the run maybe 1 yard gain

Nice Bounce to the outside by Kyren Williams but then got smacked by Ernest Jones (?) and dropped the ball recovered by the defense big reaction from sideline defensive players.

Nice catch by Cam from Rypien out in the flat knocked out a bounds by Ochaun Mathis

Cobie Durant rides Kyren Williams Out of bounds short game

Oline Noteboom, Avila, Shelton, Anchrum, Havenstein nice pass from Rypien to Higbee crossing route over the middle 15-20 yard gain. Higbee's all over the place catching everything.

Byron Young had been lining up on the right side exclusively but now he’s switched to the left McCutcheon digs one out of the dirt for a short gain on a low throw by Stetson Bennett

Nice middle screen to Evans from Bennett looks like Brian Allen is playing with the second string

OLine Jackson, Z. Thomas, Allen, McAllister, Bruss

Stetson Bennett a good scrambler got outside of the right throws a dart to Hopkins.
Hopkins dropped it on the sideline

10 yard run off right Cam just running through people, again looking for contact

Bennett hits Higbee over the middle to the five, 10 yard gain.

Nice catch in the corner of the endzone by Demarcus Robinson from Rypien

What's not to like with Cam?

Finished out last season really strong, and heading into this season he looks really strong. Can't wait!

Fingers crossed. Man, do we ever need him to crush it this year.
