Agreed next years FAs are the normal targets but McSnead arent limited by the normal. As Example the Rams pursued Burns last year.
Who falls into the second group, guys with two years I did say that .

My responses were (in order) ... HUH!?! ... followed by ... What the Fuck!?! .... followed by ... Ramswire Sucks! ... followed by ... What about Tight Ends Christian Sims and Nikola Kalinic?!?

Jourdan Rodrigue's tweet about the Rams being thin at TE right now DOES makes sense. Jourdan is NOT Trash ... If two of the Rams' six TEs are unable to practice, that's one-third; and that does make the position thin for the moment. Thereby, raising the possibility of adding a TE for Camp.
Well, Long is out & Davis Allen so that does limit them to 4 TE's with one Kalinic that just joined the team. Again IMO, I believe that was for the top of the depth chart. Also I think when you read between the lines, it does not communicate well for Brycen Hopkins.

Exactly my point ... 4 TEs; and that makes the Rams THIN at TE, which is what Jourdan Rodrigue tweeted.

The Bull-Shit comment that bothered me was from the totally-useless Ramswire which was ...
The Rams 'only have Higbee and Hopkins available'

... and then a regular poster responded with ...
'Wow, down to 2 TEs'
S
o Ramswire's factually inaccurate comment gets passed-on as if it's accurate.

Agree on the Hopkins' thought. Last year was the season he needed to show something, and build-off a solid performance in the Super Bowl.

From the most optimistic vantage point - perhaps the Rams are only a legitimate LT, solid TE, elite Edge and a shut down CB away from a serious playoff team. I believe the Edge needs to come from a trade. All others via FA or Draft.
LT I think Jackson will be great... maybe not pro bowl level but good enough. Higbee is a solid TE as long as he can stay healthy but yeah we got nothing behind him and they are all injured already.

After that just got to hope we hit on one of the edges and CBs. Edge wise I think we have talent to groom but no idea if any of them become a stud. With AD we need people who can set the edge and get 7-10 sacks off cleanup duty to be ok. CB is interesting as I think we have a lot of playmakers at that position with Durant, Tomlinson, and Witherspoon but not sure any of them are true shut down guys. That'll be the key to success is those guys as I think we can get by on edge with AD being AD. At least for playoff aspirations this year.

I don't keep up with rosters so had no clue how many TEs we did have on the team

Thought 4 was low too

Thought maybe Skow was trying to be worked in as a hybrid TE/WR

Perfectly understandable. Was not trying to put anything on you.

4 TEs is low but Ramswire said it was only Higbee and Hopkins which is NOT Accurate.

Wanted to focus on How Bad Information from sources that should be Reliable, creates a False Narrative.

Example. Our Dear Friend and Valued Rams' Fan Mike Florio. He's just great! ... ain't he?
Many of us hate that fuck.
In the past, Florio has reported some negative material on the Rams, that many of us know is not factually accurate. We know that but as die-hard Rams' fans, we are a small minority. Florio's reports get repeated by other Outlets and Sources AS FACTS ... creating a false narrative on a wider scale.

Example. I listen to (and watch) the Boomer and Gio Morning Radio Show that's simulcast on CBS. That show has the highest number of listeners of any morning sports radio show in the country. Boomer Esiason regularly repeats Florio's reports AS FACTS. It makes me a little crazy ... screaming at no body in particular ... "No that's not accurate or true!"

If Ramswire was legit and quality, instead of reporting the inaccurate statement ...
The Rams 'only have Higbee and Hopkins available'
It would have simply reported ...
The Rams 'only have Higbee and Hopkins available at TE at the top of their depth chart'

Didn’t Long get hurt & Davies Allen pull a hamstring? Who are the other camp TE’s. I will have a better answer today for you.
Nikola Kalinac & Cris Simms.

Well DK1 gets NO LOVE on ROD!!
There will be a lot of CROW to EAT.
—Higbee IMO might be an All PRO again. The dude is looking healthy as HECK!! Just like Matthew Stafford. It’s still early & this preseason The Rams will scrimmage a couple teams.

Allen Davies though should be alright & more of that Blocking TE type.I look forward to seeing Brycen Hopkins. He is an odd dude.My story on him is telling him & everyone on The Rams he was going to get cut.He got that message & almost got cut.Last season after winning the Superbowl made him feel more confident. He also bought is on special teams. Which I hope he still has that passion?
Hunter Long was a guy I wanted to see in pads.

The sleeve is not new.

Stafford has worn such a sleeve throughout most of the past two seasons with the Rams, including his very first game with the Rams (against the Bears in SoFi); and all four of the 2021 Post-season victories.
So you’re saying he’s had an injury that has hindered him since day 1?

Either that, or Stafford finds the sleeve fashionable and he’s making a fashion statement.

So what exactly is the ailment/injury affecting:
DAllen (TE)
New but oft injured (CB) picked up from the steelers
McClendon (OL)
Long (TE)

Am I forgetting anybody?

All I know is that missing more than a week of TC usually buries a guy on the depth chart as they just miss so many crucial snaps.

Probably even worse at TE where you have to cover so much stuff.

There could be a very real possibility if we don't get either of these guys back in a day or two that our TE's this year are Higbee and Hopkins again (I wouldn't cry so much as Skow can do some of the work).

DAllen (TE) - hamstring
New but oft injured (CB) picked up from the steelers - Witherspoon - thumb
McClendon (OL) - knee
Long (TE) - groin

Am I forgetting anybody?

just do a player name search in Rams wire

all are expected back sometime in camp, Witherspoon is ok to practice.

Great listen today on 11 Personnel on where some camp battles are going into "pads on."

According to Jourdan:
- Durant probably has one of the starting CB positions locked up.
- Avila and Anchrum: really likes what she sees from these guys at G (but that's really open to change with pads)
- Rams really letting Jackson/Boom competition play out and open to whatever happens there even if it means that high paid tackle is a swing tackle
- Everyone shocked at Michel retirement
- consistently rotating and giving opportunities to all running backs (they are preparing so that everyone gets enough reps to play going forward...)
- Skow doing "a lot of things" at practice (Jourdan can't comment on specifics of how players are used)
- Nacua impressive so far
- Robinson impressive
- Rypien and Bennett getting equal reps with 2s

Want to hear reports with the pads on. Gives us a better idea of what this team is made of and if we are a much more physical team we seem to be aiming for.

Anything about the C competition, if there is one?
