Bryce Hager would be cheap. Should the Rams bring him back?
Look - I have nothing but respect for Reeder’s tenure and overall effort with the Rams but I’m having trouble coming to grips with the possibility of watching him miss tackles, not keeping up with superior athletes and playing out of position play after play after play with the occasional decent play.
preaching to the choir. He is a back up at best. A fill in for a few plays. The idea that the Rams were better off with him starting than Jones was laughable. That move was a great example of cutting your nose off to spite your face.

As long as Reeder is used as ST and a spot player, a couple snaps a game, he can be an asset. As a major piece to this D he will drag the unit down.

Bottom of the barrel signing.

Even worse if we resigned Noteboom (and that is saying a hell of a whole lot).

What did the Rams ever see in this guy
Probably a bit like Atonious said, a team guy as they continued to focus on more important positions but continued missing in the Draft and FA.

T’ White was HORRIBLE!!! Shula’s defense still ALWAYS kept The Rams in games.

It was The Rams offense that STUNK worse.
I 100% agree. Consistently, throughout the year, the offense was a worse performing unit than the defense.

Doesn’t excuse the lack luster performance of our LB’s that didn’t plug holes to stop some of those tremendous gains last season.

I agree with you too. The LBs were lackluster. I will add though that lackluster performance is only one of the reasons for bad run defense.

In the beginning of the year, missed tackles by the entire defense was the biggest issue. As an example, and I'm not picking on Verse, but at one point he had a 20% missed tackle rate. Several other DL were also really high in missed tackles.

Most of the Inside linebackers they’ve talked to are late round and UDFA types.

Maybe that’s a good thing. They don’t want GMs thinking they are going to take one early. With the team to beat, being the Eagles and Lions, hopefully the Rams realize a shift in philosophy is necessary and they decide they need better LBer play.

In the who would you like the Rams to trade up for thread I said Warren. Maybe I should have said Jihad Campbell.
They did use a little trickery last year to hide their value of Verse, so I could see it. I like Demetrius Knight or Danny Stutsman as well.

For a change I can understand your post, but as usual I totally disagree with it.
That’s fine, but Troy Reeder is still a Ram & was by The organization choice that they think HIGHLY of him.

Weather you agree or not he’s a Shula guy who speaks to what Reeder brings to The Rams.

I dunno, having Reeder on the depth chart at all could force an early round draft pick at ILB considering he's such a fucking negative to have on the team.

Of course you DUNNO - it’s like a doodoo bird just squawking.

That’s such a farce, but believe what you want to believe. We both aren’t sure who The Rams will draft early or late.
-In fact there not totally sure what they will do on draft day.Like I stated though,he will be a core special teams player at the least.

100%.

Verse the beginning of 8 games of the season was absolutely horrendous tackling. He probably could do had 4 more sacks if he was trying to take the dudes head off at full speed.

Tackling was a huge issue, out of all positions I nitpick it’s the LB/RB positions because those are what I’m intimately familiar with playing sports throughout my life and college. (Which doesn’t mean shit and I'm the football bible lol)

It pained to watch their asses last year and the year before with AD gone which covered up most of their BS and lack of ability. I was appalled by the amount of people last year saying the combo of Rozeboom/Reeder was sufficient, made excuses for things that was for sure within their wheelhouse, and another part of that is their horrible tackling to boot.

I full heartedly feel we are going to be targeting LB this draft and Reeder is a safety net, but it’s going to be at the end of the draft. Cody, Simon, Jack Kiser, Teddye Buchanan, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Jay Higgins, Jefferey Limdenberg, Aaron Smith, Jackson Woodard seem to be more in the wheelhouse of how we draft look at talent in the ILB room.

At the very least we need another ILB to pair Speights that is more a coverage LB like Kiser, Bassa, Buchanan that would significantly increase the chances of getting the ball back to our offense and not blowing third downs to get our defense off the field.

We (fans) fail to admit that Reeder is the bar that we don't seem to be able to surpass.

At least he knows his alignment and assignment, unlike Speights.
