Rams Select Blake Corum RB 3rd round, pick #83

Heavily disagree.

Four of our current wideouts are free agents after this year (Atwell, Skowronek, Robinson, and Johnson), Kupp has legit concerns about a potential decline, and Nacua has injury concerns from college. Wide receiver may not be a need right now, but for the future, and with the receivers on the board, a receiver would've worked.

There's no guarantee that Tre'Davious White and Darious Williams are the same players they were in the past; White has had numerous injuries, and D-Will is thirty-one. Durant is probably the only cornerback I actually trust; THT is unproven, and Kendrick is unreliable. A cornerback would help.

You have a right to your opinion even if it’s wrong.

Those players are on the team for this season and can be replaced next year as needed.

Kupp and Pika are just as likely to have full years as anyone.

Obviously the Rams think a lot more of their DBs than you. They could have have DeJean who would have been WAY better than anyone at that late 3rd slot.

Believe I can understand your concerns. With Kyren and Corum running both together spelling each other we will be okay.

Plus his injury history isn’t that concerning just more banged up than anything.

With Corum sharing the backfield with “The Don” the last few years it worked pretty fucking good.

Neither of those positions is more needed than RB2. Corum is not going to be taking the full load and neither will Williams. But, if either has to miss time, there shouldn’t be much drop off to the other guy. He didn’t catch many passes but he wasn’t ask to.

I agree with @Memento. WR and corner are as big of if not more of a need than backup RB. Plus. In this draft there will be quality backups in round 5. This pick seems a bit early.

However, maybe McVay and Snead are emphasizing the love for playing football even more than originally thought. It certainly seems like it with this pick.

It was a meniscus tear and a MCL Sprain.

Yes severe to play “ The Game”, but nothing significant as far as we are concerned. And I degrees, as far as his season last year it didn’t amount. To anything. And now getting 1 on 1 personal training for the draft and more? Guy is a grinder, he’ll be good.

My aunt had a meniscus tear surgery in the beginning or March and is walking already normal. Corums is an athlete and young asf. He’ll be fine.

He lost a yard or average and whoever that is that posts that image please repost of running backs the most against stacked boxes and getting a high level of yards vs a stacked box versus not.


These narratives that are painted seem to fall apart when the paint runs.

I think the numbers showed he lost a fraction of a yard per carry over the year off a Heisman level year in 22. That could be attributed to a number of things other than him or his knee.

Rivers is not a sufficient RB2. By all accounts WR is the deepest position group of this draft. And, the Rams have done great work finding players for that group later.

The Rams most likely are not resigning RBs past their rookie contract unless they are superstars. They sill churn through them trying to keep fresh legs coming every year. I don’t see a bellcow RB in LA for the foreseeable future.

Corum and Williams are just holding the place for the next guys and hopefully they’ll produce like Williams did last year.

I worry about a lot of things with Corum. Mileage, injury history, size, etc. I don't know about this pick. The more I look it up, the more concerned I am. His character is impeccable, but I question this selection, especially with a third-round pick.

IF we had an early-mid 4th round pick I could see waiting for a Davis, Irving, Shipley or Estime but the Rams don’t have a 4th round pick. And they definately didn’t want to chance waiting to see who was available in the 5th round because there is an obvious commitment to a powerful run game that requires a 1B to KWills 1A. So Corum or Lloyd in the 3rd makes perfect sense to me.

I don't like this pick with all of the wide receivers and corners available, but he's a Ram now. Smaller runner, compact, physical.

he's a very good back. if he didn't have health issues i'd almost say great. so maybe when kyren is hurt, blake will be healthy and vice versa! now as to comparing him with other players available on board, can't help with that. i've watched him play for a couple of years in the big ten and he was good enough that i was glad if he wasn't playing or if he was, would have liked him on buckeyes (with their talented but oft injured back).

5'7" with a lot of heavy mileage. 731 total touches over four years, not counting the normal wear and tear. I'm concerned about that.

I get the mileage concern. Consider though that most likely we're not signing any RB to a 2nd contract given their shelf life is so short. Which is why Jourdan said that they look to draft a RB every year.

So they'll use the hell out of him in the next 3-4 years, he'll score like 40 TDs for us, and then move on.

I like the pick, plus Kyren had some injuries last season so it's a good insurance policy, plus he seems to have a nose for the short yardage situations where the Rams struggled with in the past.

I still think we need to draft LC, CB and O Line for depth. Hopefully another late round gem can be had, plus a reliable kicker prospect.

You can get that number two running back in the fifth round, like you did with K-Will. You can get talented running backs late. Isiah Pacheco was a seventh round pick. I'm not saying draft our running back in the seventh, but you can certainly find them later than expected.



Corum is not the talent Gibbs is. In fact, Gibbs' closest comparison in this draft - not that you can compare it - is probably Jaylen Wright.

You can get a good WR in the 5th too.
