I think it has always been about Pass pro keeping them off the field. So you could be right if he struggles there.I doubt I doubt that just from the way that McVay has used previous rookies

I don't have any tape but I can tell you what PFF ratings say about pass pro and run blocking for both players.Does anybody have pass protection tape on Corum? Kyren was special in that regard coming out of Notre Dame, especially for his size.
I appreciate that but PFF metrics without context don't mean much to me in this regard tbhI don't have any tape but I can tell you what PFF ratings say about pass pro and run blocking for both players.
Kyren (avg. over 3 years)
Pass blocking: 51
Run blocking: 66
Corum (avg. over 4 years)
Pass blocking: 57
Run blocking: 57
Coming out of college, Corum is the superior pass blocker while Kyren was the superior run blocker. There's generally way fewer run blocking opportunities for a RB which makes pass pro the most important metric.

I like this guy because he seems to have a nose for the end zone or short yardage plays. I hated seeing Stafford doing a sneak for a 1/2 yard and often times, not making it, especially against the whiners. With Kyren and Corum, I'd like to see a 90+ % conversion rate on 3rd or 4th and 1.
When you factor in the new middle of the Rams OL make that more like 100%.I like this guy because he seems to have a nose for the end zone or short yardage plays. It may be they drafted Corum to take touches away from Kyren. Keep him healthy while not missing a beat in the run game. Boston Scott is a good #3 with additional value. My guess is #4 will be between Rivers and Evans, because they'll keep 4 on the roster. He and K-Will will be solid together, and Scott should help with kickoffs and a third running back. I’m still hesitant with the amount of touches Corum will receive (700+ is a lot of touches in one college year, so I want him to be healthy enough for us.), but a healthy 60/35/5 (K-Will/Corum/third string) for our running backs could be the key to our season.
All of us thought they would draft a complement to Kyren Williams, what they wanted was a clone. Someone just like Williams and Corum fits that bill. He runs downhill with great vision and with more power because of his renown squats in the weight room.It may be they drafted Corum to take touches away from Kyren. Agree 100% and if you haven’t flashed by now as per history you are going to be finding the waiver wire soon with how the team is managed. All of us thought they would draft a complement to Kyren Williams, what they wanted was a clone. Boston Scott was added for his ability to break it loose with his 4.4 speed plus his ability to catch the football too. Overall a very good RB room and unless Zach Evans shows something in preseason, he will be the odd man out IMHO.
Possibly. But we have a real two headed attack now. Two backs deep for the first time for coach, so the run game should be there.I wouldn't be surprised if Corum is the one with the majority of carries by week 3. Both will see significant touches, probably over 200 for each, which would be ideal. That would truly mean we have 2, 1a RBs. Last year I predicted 10 wins, first time I was ever right I think, possibility of 12 or 13 win season is my expectation. Both RBs over 900 yards and a combined 20 rush TDs.
