No, the Rams kept him on the roster as a young developmental QB, but his arm strength and ability to lead his speedy receivers is apparently no better now than it was last season. McCutcheon saved his ass on contested balls, but Perkins does deserve some credit for the victory. He still has a couple games to improve his throwing status, but relying on his legs to get him out of trouble as a QB isn't likely to get him to the next level. jmo

You don't keep developmental QBs on your 53 man roster..thats what the practice squad is for

And maybe I missed where Bryce has shown that he hadn't improved in his passing...

And let's remember he's competing against Wolford who hasn't shown much arm strength in the games and highlights I've seen him play..

Haven’t seen anything out of Perkins I didn’t see last year.
His passes to McCutcheon were ducks, except for the 2pt conversion.
I like him, but the more I see of him, the less I like as a thrower.

Wolford’s arm is significantly stronger.

I mean.. Wolford did this with 1s against 1s.

What are we even talking about?

Those 2020 highlights seem like so long ago, but you can see a quickness to Wolford.

He is quick with progressions, he moves around the pocket with quick feet, quick release, and he’s no chump as a scrambler.

McVay knows what he needs and he is showing no concern about his backup situation.

I just wish he had more than 42 NFL pass attempts. And for that reason, I think he plays in the preseason if not this week, next.

Be careful what you wish for.
Unless it’s garbage time, I don’t want to see ANY other QB on the field for the Rams.

Sorry but this pass isn't up for grabs. Ball placed exactly where it needed to be...hit his WR in stride and WR made the play on the ball.

Wolford will get a chance to show what he can do with the same guys that Bryce has played with. Wolford hasn't played in a preseason game with the Rams since 2019.... and he's yet to throw a TD in an NFL game.... he won a big game for us a couple years ago, but he won it with his legs after throwing a pick six on his first play.

Ball was placed exactly where he wanted it? Underthrown?

No, it wasn’t. He had to slow down and reach back.

A good NFL DB might pick that off.

Sorry. He doesn’t have an NFL arm.

That ball should have thrown to the outside of McCutcheon not the inside

I don't think it was underthrown that much just not on the right side

If he threw it to the other side of McCutcheon it would have been a good pass - maybe another foot on the pass as well

Well we’ll see how it plays out. McCutchen is the bigger body & looks good on special teams.
Put it this way. The practice squad rules just changed, making it harder for having lifer practice squad players like Jake Gervase. JJ Koski is in that mold.
Let’s make a ROD WAGER on JJ Koski being on the active roster in 2022/23. Meaning until the SuperBowl from now. To think he isn’t a Ram & The Coaching staff doesn’t respect him is insane. Of course you want more talent, but what he brings to The Rams day in & day out is priceless. He is a WE player!!

I get the fascination with Perkins as a Runner.
He’s not an RB.
These aren’t get the ball and crash through the line runs.
Maybe you could keep him as a weapon to get the ball to him in space… but he’s not a running back.
He looks a lot like Taysom Hill in terms of where he is right now in his development. Maybe McVay is envisioning similar usage with him.

Yup, with Bruss out I now forget about OBj and concentrate on a trade for a quality RG.
I see the competition between Marquise Copeland & Jonah Williams tightening.
I still believe we'll use a waiver pick-up for another RB.
Bryce Perkins will be waived and picked up by another team before the Rams can reclaim him to our Practice Squad.

Looks pretty damn good to me.

I might go with adding Jonah Williams or Earnest Brown on the DL instead of adding that fourth inside linebacker, and you didn't seem to account for Travin Howard, who should be back at some point.

I wouldn't bet on an OL trade at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised either.

Well - that’s silly think there will be a trade for a O”Lineman? Then again.

I’d say I liked AJ Jackson at RG better than LT. He is big & Physical inside.

Agree no extra inside, but OLB. Whitley is a guy I like & Johna Williams as well. Your right about E.Brown to because they can play special teams.

Hardy will now start the yr on IR it seems. So hopefully Whitley makes the 53. I think he has some upside. Holding up well despite a huge jump in competition from Holy Cross.
