Some notes from Jourdan:

- Don't read too much into depth charts this time of year
- Like both Jackson's as bookends in the future with continued development
- They love Garcia
- Evans is toast unless he surprises in preseason
- Top DBs Ramsey, Hill, Long - Rochelle to get some snaps in preseason
- Dixon's job to lose

AND...

- her statement that at this moment Shelton has the lead at RG and won't give it up easily. Showing the kind of grit that Allen did last year that won him the starting job.

That's actually the reaction I expected from most here. Funk is good on special teams, otherwise I'm yet to be impressed though. I also understand that nobody knows how Perkins might do lining up at RB, although I'd like to find out. I've still got Funk & Rose on the Practice Squad, and we can always bring one or the other up if necessary. jmo.

I get the fascination with Perkins as a Runner.
He’s not an RB.
These aren’t get the ball and crash through the line runs.
Maybe you could keep him as a weapon to get the ball to him in space… but he’s not a running back.

As a QB he's really a single progression & run type, I wonder just how different it would be for him as a RB ? He can run with speed, he's got vision, and he can shed tackles, ... what I don't know is whether he can be a consistent blocker & receiver ?

OK, who did I forget ?
Trammell was very impressive to me in the game as well.
He would certainly be on the practice squad....and likely signed by another team. That dude will be open on short stuff all day long.
Id also would move Kolone up the depth chart.
I think Brewer played well at G as well.

I'll likely adjust my depth chart following Friday's second pre-season game with Houston.
Trammell did have a pretty good game, but with all the receivers we have it's getting difficult to find the room. Hopefully he'll get many more targets Friday. While Kolone did well, right now he remains on the practice squad as we already have 2 Centers on the 53, and Brewer plays OG as well as OT. I'm not sure at this time whether the Rams will need to carry a 10'th offensive lineman. jmo.

Bryce Perkins isn't a running back
..Hes a Quarterback..

One whose PASSING stats in college were better than the guy he's competing with for #2

That was then, this is now. If Perkins doesn't make the Rams as a back-up QB, his NFL career may be toast. Trying something new might extend that career. Many have tried their hand at WR, I'd just like to see what he can do as a RB, ... if it's a bust we haven't lost much. jmo.

It’s on the Rams app, I dunno how to link it…

Few surprises… Rapp ahead of Burgess is one…

But Van Jefferson isn’t even listed and they’ve listed everyone (unless he was out on pup, I don’t think pup folks are in it)

Seemed like a big omission unless I’ve missed something
Man do we have a lot of talent on defense

From what I see currently of our RB unit :injury:injury history, if Perkins was to morph to the RB position & can remain healthy he would end up being Ram's rushing leader when this season came to an end.

He's not a running back. He's a quarterback.

We didn't keep 3 QBs on the 52 man roster all year just to keep a guy whose NOT a QB.

We'd be crazy to cut him and we'd be even crazier to move him to another position.

He's got more upside than Wolford and people are letting his running ability minimize his passing ability... he's been a solid passer and has the numbers from college 4 preseason games to prove it

My depth chart was meant to shock at this position, and with our current RB room showing chronic poor health, considering that Perkins has great size, speed & vision for the rush, I just don't see the harm in giving him a go. I've never been sold on Funk anywhere but on special teams, so unless the Rams have another bold move up their sleeves, I might experiment with him (Perkins) unless he has categorically expressed that he won't do it. jmo.

No, the Rams kept him on the roster as a young developmental QB, but his arm strength and ability to lead his speedy receivers is apparently no better now than it was last season. McCutcheon saved his ass on contested balls, but Perkins does deserve some credit for the victory. He still has a couple games to improve his throwing status, but relying on his legs to get him out of trouble as a QB isn't likely to get him to the next level. jmo.

Great work and love the list, subbing Funk for Perkins:)
Anyone else hoping we had a veteran ILB on the cheap at cutdown time? My goodness, I don't have a ton of faith in the two back-ups on a SB contender.
