I been thinking on this game. If the Rams win the coin toss, I hope McVay sets the tone putting the defense on the field first. The tackling was atrocious in that first game.

No TOs is the first order of business for the Rams followed by strong tackling on defense, followed by good pressure on the QB...but don't be so keyed up to rush the passer to were you get caught with screen passes and the like.

I think Stafford's gonna be a surgeon on Saturday, but my hope is McVay makes good use of the RBs out of the backfield also.

That line is ridiculous for a home playoff team. It's going to take a special set of circumstances for the Rams to hold a 10 point lead. until the end of the game. Even if they're up 14 in the 4th, they're going to let the Panthers drive down the field if they're willing to dink and dunk and eat up the rest of the clock in the process. I can't imagine there's going to be a lot of action on the Rams -10.
Well, I was wrong, bettors love LA -10.5 - "L.A. is, predictably, forming the basis for many money-line parlays this weekend, but their large favorite spread is also getting attention from bettors, garnering the majority of tickets and handle at BetMGM and theScore Bet."

Fresh Prince of LA back in the team bitches. :laugh3:

Seriously though. Kid's so intelligent and well spoken. Cred to him and his parents. :thumbsup1:

Dedich really isn't as bad as that. Sometimes Stafford will feel pressure from him. He can run block pretty well. It's pass protection where he can be tenuous but not to where he allows sacks. Stafford is aware and that's a good thing. I think he'll be getting some help from the TEs too.

Forbes is my concern as he had a terrible game against the Panthers. I wonder does he start or Spoon at CB.
Thats a very good question because Forbes was roasted last time and Witherspoon looks cooked to me. I know he was bound to have some rust, but is that all it is?

Durant and Lake need to make a difference in coverage today.

I’m obviously speculating here, as we all do on a sports board…but I feel like McVay may be gambling a bit on holding some guys out because he feels like he can win this Carolina gm short a couple key players like Dotson. Meaning if we were facing a Seattle or Philly this week, it’d be all hands on deck.
I don’t think McVay has much of a choice here. Going into philly or Seattle w/o Dotson and Adams? Cant like our chances under those circumstances.

Conversely, after the way the secondary has been playing, especially in the panthers game, I don’t think McVay can afford to keep Lake out.

I think this game really comes down to how well we stop the run. They had a lot of success last time running the football, especially on first down. They were constantly in 2nd and medium and 3rd and short. They shrunk the game and minimized the number of possessions we had on offense.

If our offense gets 9 possessions, they are going to score on at least 6 of them. They might have a three and out on one drive, maybe another that stalls out at midfield after some dumb penalties, and maybe a turnover on another. But they will eventually find their groove and score on every other drive. And it’s usually touchdowns.

But when the offense only touches the ball 7 times, the margin for error goes way way down. You can’t afford to go three and out…ever. Every drive has to advance the ball and end in points. The better we are at stopping the run the more opportunities we create for the offense to put points up. It’s gotta be the number one priority defensively today.
