OK. So I spent years in Phillipsville in the 80s and even back then during C.A.M.P. we referred to the Afghany weed as lettuce, the huge fucking plants as “trees”, other terms such as purple flower, sticky, skunk, trim, table fare, Porsche funds, devil cabbage, sunken drums, purple woods, stank, angel gloves, etc. The vet hill just referred to it as fundage. Funny thing is that I don’t think I EVER heard of it referred to as Cannabis.

I guess I don’t see your issue with terminology. Seems like an odd thing to be offended by.
When I was in High School, I often heard the good stuff being called Maui Wowie. Was that ever slang for good ole Mary Jane? We might need an expert.... @Selassie I ?

weed is almost as big of a waste of time as video games.
Get nothing accomplished, lighting time on fire. And time is the most important thing there is.

You ever read a book? Watch a movie? Watch a tv show? See a play? Spend time on the internet? Sit down for three and a half hours to watch a sporting event?

Then you’re wasting time and getting nothing accomplished ;)

What ? You think you are trying to educate me on weed ?
Good luck with that. Humboldt is about giant trees and weed. No one does it better.
Lived in Arcata still have family there. I've seen my share for sure.

Maui Wowie was a really sweet bud. Questionable weather most was actually from Maui but the good little sweet buds were hard to compare.

Afghany was stonier and I could be wrong but I believe Maui Wowie was Sativa. I know for sure that Afghany was Indica- though I had some friends that cultivated a Sativa/indica cross as far back as the early 80s up in Humboldt. Funny thing was that when the skunk was in bloom, we flew over the area west of Phillipsville in my buddy’s plane and you could pick the plants out clearly from the air. They were like tennis balls on a green background even though many of the growers would put camo netting over the plants. I was actually landscaping around a store and mobile home park in Phillipsville next to the Eel River and would watch as the helicopters would fly over with nets full of plants on their way to the burn areas where they would torch the stuff. I wasn’t part of the operation.

My buddy would grow his in little one to three plant groups so that it wasn’t as easy as these knuckleheads that would plant in like hundred plant blocks. He had C4 implanted on the base of trees next to the road coming in ready to down them if they got raided during harvest.

I went out to the ranch a few times. I’m not sure where this 5-6 foot tall thing comes in. These plants were easily 8’ tall and had trunks that you used a chainsaw on to cut them down.

The sheriff would help the national guard on the ground by wiring their horns to their emergency flashers. When they went in to raid a “farm”, they would turn on their emergency flashers and their horns would constantly be honking. They actually rarely arrested anyone even during CAMP. Their goal was to get rid of the weed.

There was a notorious hill that supposedly had a bunch of Vietnam Vets with full artillery. Supposedly, they issued a notice to law enforcement that they had done their time and any helicopters coming in would be shot out of the air. I have no facts about that but the locals swore by the story.

It WAS funny that shortly after harvest time, you’d see Porsches and Beemers all over the area. Then in the spring, it was bugs and shitty cars.

The little bar The Elkhorn in Phillipsville wouldn’t card anyone really. I introduced the place to Slammers.

Fun times. Times we’ll never see again.

fuck me, has everyone in america smoked a ton of weed?

.
Aussies don’t? I went to school with a bunch of Kiwis and they woke up smoking weed. Aren’t they your close cousins?

Funny thing is that I used to smoke a lot of weed back in the 80s before it was legal. Now that it’s legal, I rarely partake.

Reading a book and watching a play to not fall under wasting time. You get a lot out of that. Movies and TV ?? Meh, not so much. Kinda get programed too.
We all spend too much time on the internet. Every single one of us.
I can spend a weekend on the couch watching TV with my lap top there too. Giant waste of time, indulgent.
But the days where I get off my ass and go out in the garage and work on my GTO, build something or even do the yard work I have been putting off I feel so much better. And actually have a good time once I start doing it.
I don't play video games for a reason, I would get hooked on them and spend all this time on a skill that means nothing, takes from you and gives nothing back.
I have seen these losers who play video games so much they hurt theit backs and shoulders and miss work !
Things like golf, you do spend a lot of time and a skill that does not mean anything. But, walking for 10 holes out in nature is good for you.
I do watch every single Rams play. Its now in my DNA. Pretty much given up on MLB and the rigged NBA. Only so many hours in the day.

They probably do. I didn't associate with people that did. Out of sight, out of mind.

Not since High School and then only a few times after that.
Personally for me the shit was destroying me.

The sedating strands would make me useless and non productive.
The energizing strands would make me anxious and mess up my sleep cycles.
I don't judge anyone, because for some it enhances their lives and affect them differently.
And I understand that some of the products these days may be more refined and have less side effects.

My wife never touched any drugs and is the most productive, amazing person I know, so even if I thought I might try adding a bit of weed to enhance my life, I would not, because she wouldn't be on board.

The natural high of working out 5-6 days a week and a little caffeine works really well for me. I'm productive and never have any mood swings or sleep issues.

Loveland I never liked. Can’t believe he was taken before Warren.I liked Mason Taylor
I don't think the Brownies had a choice - meanwhile we have to decide who to share all the snaps with. Puka being out freed up some nice 12 & 13 packages.
Sean Mcvay was like I’ll even make a play for you.

Then again did you ever see his commercial with Matthew Stafford to start the season ??

He now goes into what a DF he is when asked about Stafford coming up with a play.:

If someone in my circle said "lets go burn some lettuce" you would be called a loser and be laughed out of the room.
In quite a twist of irony, that would seem to be a compliment. Maybe your crew could come up with something more creative than "loser"?

There is no high better than the one you get when you accomplish a goal that you have worked hard for over an extended period of time and then finally succeed. For example, I started lifting weights at the age of 12 because I was bullied, I stuck with it and became a powerlifter 10 years later. At the age of 45 I benched 500lbs in competition and at the age of 48 retired after a 525lb bench at the Worlds.

Yes... Maui Wowie was used.
When I still lived in The 808 we called it Pakalolo.

There are so many names that have been used through the years. Sometimes the names come from the stupid name that the grower decided on for a particular strain... other times the names are created by each younger generation so that their parents don't know what they are talking about.

Now that it is legal for medicinal purposes here in FL, the dispensaries many times list the crazy name the grower gave the strain and they also list if it is a Sativa, Indica, or a Hybrid of the 2. I basically only like Sativa now, so that's the name I most commonly use and look for on the label. I still call it Pakalolo sometimes too.

Things are not mutually exclusive.
Good job.
Thats an Aaron Donald level bench.

Soooooooooooo.........youre saying its just a personal thing.
I agree.
Outside of that its weird judgyism.
I don't disagree with a lot of it but saying something like books and plays are not wasting time (and not programming) while tv and movies are.....yeah, ok.
I enjoy reading psych and medical books. Im not a shrink or a doctor. The book Im reading now is Explorations In Cognitive Dissonance.
Not being a shrink and reading that....is that a waste of time? Yes and no.
That is the answer to a lot of this stuff.
Learning to play an instrument as a discipline can be seen as productive and not a waste of time. However, if you never play gigs or record music, does that means it was a waste of time?
Ive started trying to do some painting.
I have no delusions about selling paintings or being a professional artist, so, is that a waste of time?
You get my point I assume.
