Maybe but ALL the TEs drafted around Ferguson are getting a decent amount of snaps.

From Mason Taylor, selected four picks ahead of Ferguson, to Arroyo, Fanin, Helm, Evans, Gadsen and Hawes (all drafted between the late-second and fifth rounds) ... everyone is seeing a fair amount of playing time. Some of those guys are on good teams.

It's very early; and Ferguson did miss valuable Camp time due to an injury ... Plus ... the Rams have three experienced TEs. Still, it would be nice to see Ferguson game-day active, with some role.
Some thoughts:

The above is a super measured take. It does seem McVay wants TE's that are assignment sound and can block well in both run and pass before anything else. Two things a rookie will struggle with. If it were just using him as a pass catcher, I think he'd be out there.

But don't love that all those other guys are getting meaningful snaps.

BTW, Higbee's 1st season was pretty meh. And he really didn't get going till year 3 in this offense, 4 years into his career.

Also, historically, if an offensive skill player is injured his first year in camp for longer than a week in this offense, they usually don't see a ton of on field use the 1st year. Feels like there's been a number of those cases through the years.

Davis Allen showing up in camp and the beginning of the season is probably playing a role here too.

Interesting enough, chances are once Ferguson starts playing and getting significant snaps they are either:
- sitting a team leader and head of the TE Room (Higbee),
- sitting a kid who is said to have had an strong off season and decent start this season (Allen),
- sitting the guy with a $22.5 million contract who already got his roster bonus (Parkinson).

All 3 of which has to know the offense better and experience with Stafford.

Might just take a significant injury or trade for Ferguson in 2025.

Think you meant Terrance Ferguson not Henderson.

Ferguson's time will come. And I believe it will be this year. Not concerned one bit. That injury in training camp set him back too far for Mcvay and Stafford to get comfortable with him.
