Stafford was back peddling a lot. SEA kept him from his deadly rollouts too.Agreed. Was a gritty veteran performance vs a tough defense.
Stafford didn't force anything like Darnold did.
Some weeks you have to dial it back like this.

If this weren't the celebration thread I would say that McVay going into full conservo mode anytime before 6 minutes to go in the 4th pisses me the fuck off, but since this is the celebration thread, I'll post happy things and just think those thoughts. No doubt. Though I suspect McVay went full conservo mode due to the fact we had the lead all night. Some of those first down play calls with runs when Seattle was sitting on the calls led to the three consecutive stuttered drives, any of which could have ended that game. The one after the INT in particular pissed me off.
Not arguing with what he did, either. He got away with it but I think our offense is capable of more vs that defense.

I agree I think our offense is capable of more versus that defense.
Ahhh damn!!!!It's mainly because of the part that I capitalized and underlined. We don't insult our team - players, coaches, front office, even the cheerleaders and mascot - here. This is a board made by homers for homers. I know that some of us tend to forget that on game day, but overall, we are a positive board, and maybe you didn't read that part.
I'm sorry that you didn't stop to learn, but I'll wish you well in your future endeavors that aren't in here.
Me too! and it's getting better with every game.I am starting to think this could be the best team of the McVay era.
That’s ok. The main thing is the Rams were not gonna let those two WRs beat them. If the seahawks were gonna win, it would have been through the TE. The run game was shut down and the two wideouts were kept in check. The main person that was getting catches was the te some of that’s on speights and landman they both great in in the run game but neither are that good in coverage
This is it exactly. Also I wonder when Corum is in if there is a higher percentage of runs called do to Williams being so much better in pass pro. Seattle could have been playing the odds and playing for the run. How could we find that out.
The Slim Reaper....Starting to love that lean mean stickman.
Well...I tend to think that after the 1st int, Darnold was pressing. Especially in the 2nd half because the defense was bringing better pressure. That’s ok. The run game was shut down and the two wideouts were kept in check.
That strategy probably had something to do with the 4 picks.
Seattle has speed on defense and a lot of it.3 of 4 TEs whiffed on Blocks, only one I didn't see was Ferg whiffing
I saw Ferg play but was only in to Block, did anyone see him go out for a pass?
If you think Seattle isn't very good you need to watch them more.A wins a win for sure...... but Seattle isn't that good of a team.
But I have to point out the issues.... And the D only played average.
McScatterBrain looked like last years coach.... I was disappointed to see that, and especially his love affair with Corrum.
The only point I would like to add to the above, is that the Rams' struggles on offense had A LOT to do with the Seahawks' exceptional Defense. If you think Seattle isn't very good you need to watch them more.
They are an excellent and balanced team with a very good young coach.
That D is physical and fast and no joke.
I'm sure McVay would agree the offense was impotent most of the day and he will likely have something else cooked up for game number 2 against the sea gulls.
YeppersThe only point I would like to add to the above, is that the Rams' struggles on offense had A LOT to do with the Seahawks' exceptional Defense.
Yeah, they are excellent. The only point I would like to add to the above, is that the Rams' struggles on offense had A LOT to do with the Seahawks' exceptional Defense.

Only thing we lack is Todd Gurley lol. But kudos to KW for his 2 "explosive" plays last game. Great running & we needed him at that 4th & 1 at the goal line--it's really hard to stop a guy with his vision from getting in the EZ from just a few yards out.
Not gonna argue that one. I see some eerie similarities to our prev McVay SB teams, if not stats then impact/presence/production.I am starting to think this could be the best team of the McVay era.
I was thinking back on who all we've played now, and its pretty wild:
Texans - 5-5
Titans - 1-9
Eagles - 8-2
Colts - 8-2
Niners - 7-4
Ravens - 5-5
Jaguars - 6-4
Saints - 2-8
Niners - 7-4
Seahawks - 7-3
We've only played two teams thus far that have a losing record. The Ravens didn't have Lamar, yes - but their game against us in hindsight marked the start of their defensive turnaround, and they got several key players back against us. The Texans started poorly but clawed back to .500 - that included the healthy Bucs needing a last second TD to beat them, and they pushed Seattle a bit late in their game against them. They were also healthy against us. The Jaguars beatdown, at the time, looked like maybe we exposed them. Not so after the shellacking they put on the Chargers. They were also pretty healthy against us.
56-46 is the combined record, BUT if you remove our games.....our opponents thus far are 54-38 against the rest of the league, and we have a point differential of 100 in ten games - so we are winning by an average of double digits each game. Against teams that are OVER .500, we are 4-2, with the two losses being fluky.
I am starting to think this could be the best team of the McVay era.
To this point of the season they definitely are his strongest team. The 2018 team had a midseason swoon and took a few weeks to come out of it behind CJ's addition in the backfield. This team is stronger on both sides of the ball. 2021 team was a bit soft in the middle of the sched too and didn't hit their stride until late. Both came out of the blocks a bit slow and flawed, particularly on the protections.I am starting to think this could be the best team of the McVay era.
Totally agree - especially the interior D-line, but I ALSO think Stafford was just off. All day.The only point I would like to add to the above, is that the Rams' struggles on offense had A LOT to do with the Seahawks' exceptional Defense.
