Simpson looks so much more dynamic than Bennett.
Bennett didn't look good...although in his defense, the play calling looked VERY conservative when he was in.
Yeah I don’t understand the point of playing Bennett if you are going to be so conservative and safe. He had 4 bootlegs and 2 quick game throws. The playcalling last preseason was much more wide open, pushing the ball downfield. It’s preseason. You might as well see what you got. Honestly same for Simpson.

Simpson should be the second-string quarterback. He looks ready.
He’s looked good but I still don’t think he’s ready to be QB2. He’s playing against a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers running a really safe conservative offense. I still think it’s more than likely we end up with Jimmy on the roster with Ty QB3 and Stetson on the practice squad.

Rams 2 Penalties. Chiefs 7. Sure seemed like there were more than that. Although 7 Penalties in one half is a lot for a team.

The play calling made it pretty simple. I wouldn't make any judgment on what we have seen so far. There were not even any intermediate passes called. Looked to me like a just stick your toes in to get a feel type of play calling for both QBs.

I'm sure Mcvay is more interested in putting Simpson in different scenarios than kicking fgs
I hear ya but the playcalling says otherwise. Go back and watch Bennett’s highlights from both preseason games last year. The playcalling resembled what it would’ve looked like in a regular season game with Stafford. Play action with intermediate throws over the middle of the field. Go balls. Deep outs.

Today has been 95% bootlegs where the QB is hitting their first read right away. I just don’t understand the philosophy behind it. I was looking forward to watching Bennett and Simpson run the full offense. This is straight up training wheels stuff. Maybe it’ll change next week.
