Jets also wanted Brett Favre, 1 pick after Falcons took him, FWIW.
That's a long time ago. How about in the recent past.

Of course they took Darnold who I thought would be pretty good but the Jets ruined him for a few years.

So whoever the Jets pick, it's like a curse to the player lol.

I shouldn't have said anything about eating crow. I was just annoyed with people implying that I am completely wrong in my assessment and some insulting me.

I apologize for bringing up that can of worms.

Again I want to remind people that I will get no enjoyment if I am right. That means that the Rams made a bad pick and we lost a possible valuable 13 asset.

I am wholly gonna support and root for Simpson to do well. Prove me wrong Simpson Prove me wrong.

This thread was doomed from the get, it's not even partially on you bro.
Even in a group of seemingly like minded fans focussing on a common interest as it soul focus "Ram Football"
the social experiment follows the typical path. We need the distraction of actual football.

I hope you're right.

But if you are wrong (we will know after 3 or 4 years) - will you be eating crow like I will be eating crow if I am wrong.
Don't you worry about a thing! Matthew will simply employ the Vulcan Mind Touch to transfer all his vast NFL experience & knowledge to Ty so Simpson can mutate into the Soul Stealer 2.0. :sunglasses:

....just be a MAN and give the path or route you would have taken instead. No problem whatsoever.
That's not how it works with critiquing the draft. The pros and cons are..... pros get Simpson and cons get the field. At least until the season transpires. Then it's narrowed down from the field to a half dozen or so. And the funny thing is Simpson won't have a say with his play other than preseason..

Dumbest response ever :laugh4:
So let me get this straight. All you need to do is opine that Simpson was the wrong pick and that makes you the smart one. I would think that if you are so confident that the pick was a mistake, you would have an opinion as to specifically how it should have been handled. And that would include who that player is and where they would be taken. Word is that the Rams felt that Love was the only true difference maker in the draft. This may or may not be true but that leaves us wondering. You say we should have used the draft to get someone that would have helped us get to the SB THIS YEAR - not someone that would sit behind our QB. So who is that impact player? You want to wait and see who does what in the coming season? Well that's kind of chicken shit. But even if you want to use that as some sort of litmus test, does it include whether that player would actually see the field and have the same impact with THIS team? Or is it just that they got with a team that needed them? Are we going to use Miami and their WR room? Maybe KC and their CB group? Come on man. If @Coliseum Ram is being dumb here, give us your wisdom.

Bottom line is that if you are going to sit here and argue that Simpson was the wrong pick, one would think you have an opinion as to who was the RIGHT pick or right draft process.

Too many people are invested in Simpson failing now so it will always matter to them. Simpson isn't alone in this there are still people bringing up Tutu getting picked over Creed as well. It won't ever go away now.

Not sure you like it both ways or not ? Tutu Atwell is gone now.

A lot of Fans don’t like Shelton.Last season blaming Limmer from the year before.I don’t know how you look at it ?

Thought DJ Humpries was a JOKE once I saw him miss a block on special teams.Thought KT Leveston preformed well,it shows in Cleveland. If nothing else he adds depth.

This Wyatt Bowles is interesting.I wonder if The Rams hid him off the practice squad ? IMO he is an excellent combo guy to have on the roster.Dedich is a competitor who seems to fill in well.

I’m one for watching the development of players. The Rams backups out preformed Atwell & should only show much more improvement in 2026.My gut says Atwell will make a little noise in The NFL still though.

What matters most about this is the fact that McVay spent a lot of time talking football with this kid. This is "his" guy and since McVay is the best coach in football and maybe the smartest of them all too we are just going to have to trust him.
You know that Sean has already been making plays for Simpson in his head that have a lot to do with his movement skills.
,Again we just have to trust him. Nothing else to it, if you will root for him to suck that means you are a lousy fan and probably not the best dude either.

I'm not worrying about it, I'm just saying that's what will happen. Simpson is already a polarizing pick. Don't understand why discussing things realistically drives folks up a wall. I'm literally discussing it is all.
But you're not though. All you're doing is saying you think it is the wrong pick. Discussing would be explaining how you would have done it different and with what "right" pick.

To me, worrying about painful talk should they fail is ridiculous. As if it wouldn't be painful if they took Lemon and he fucked up our chances. Or Bain. Or any other player. Fuck the 'told ya so' bullshit bound to be plentiful if they don't win the Lombardi!!! Rather than worrying about bullshit like that, think about the possibility Simpson keeps McVay around much longer by playing like a stud when #9 hangs it up.
That is the dream: to have Matthew close out his career in a blaze of Super Bowl glory (preferably two SBs!) only to have that QB excellence continue with a well-mentored Ty keeping the Horns in the Super Bowl scenarios for over a decade after Matthew rises off into the sunset. Can you imagine the stress on our divisional, conference, and AFC foes to see the Horns RamPaging still!?! :fistbump1:

Thanks. I feel better now.

Is this sarcasm?

An initial critique without alternatives seems meaningless to me.

Pretty sure we understand what the term means. It's not some abstract concept.

And along with $4.99 you'd have $5. I'm just not sure why you think any of that matters but that's fine. Admit away if it happens if it makes you feel better. But rea;;y - only if it makes you feel better. I wouldn't do it to appease some A-hole who wants to hold an opinion over your head. And I don't think the board as a whole will be holding it's breath for some mia culpa.

So... You won't offer admiration or acknowledge he is great (if that happens) if he succeeds beyond career back-up because you are on record as having a lower opinion of him? Seems pretty silly.

If you want to go around this board throwing out "I told you so" if he doesn't succeed as our QB, have at it.
But I wouldn't expect it to go well for you. Sorry man. Second guessing is always going to have someone who is right, someone who is wrong, and gradients in between. As I said before, few things bore me more than that kind of banter.

I wasn't in the camp for taking Simpson. If he does well, I'll simply cheer him on realizing yet again, I was wrong about a draft pick while moving on. If he doesn't succeed, I'll acknowledge we took a stab at the most important position on the field and we missed. Que sera sera.
So to address your points....I get people most likely know what eating crow means but explained just in case. The admitting I was wrong about the guy is my own personal preference. At the end of the day, everyone else will ultimately decide what to do. I guess what I was really trying to say if either side does it, it just should be a simple, shit I was wrong about dude and that's it. This leads me to my next point, I'm not going to ever pretend I have all the confidence in the world for the guy since I never did. Now if he proves me wrong, of course I'm going to give him his props and admire how he became a great player. Don't know where the hell you got the idea from that I wouldn't. For me, I need to be made a believer if that makes sense. Yes I'll remind others just like we'll be reminded if it goes to shit. I'm going to try my best to more so do it in a sense where it sucks that we missed with him as the heir but I'm not going to go into details saying we should have drafted such and such right away. I'd at least wait until we have a quality QB in place or years down the road before running back to essentially joke about that aspect. Its kinda like we can talk shit about certain draft picks made in the dark days. Got to give time and space before joking about it. Exactly what you described at the last part is basically how I described my admission snd and how I feel about the whole situation.
