Let's say Stafford gives us two years. In two years time we'll at least know if the kid is functional. If he's not we just go hunting for a QB. If he seems it, we try him out for a 1-3 seasons but does anyone really believe that a team like this wouldn't take another QB if they got a chance and felt the guy was superior to Simpson?

Isn't that what we did with Goff?

I weirdly have faith in this front office that they will be willing to move off the kid if a superior opportunity presents itself.

Honestly don't think it matters whether we gave up picks or not. The Rams have shown they are willing to go after upgrades, regardless of position, if they feel they need to. That's what makes this front office awesome but also doesn't mean they may have missed out on a hypothetical player that can be debated until the end of time :laugh4:

I dunno. I hope the need for some to say "I told you so" doesn't trump the ability to root for the team to win. Sure seemed like that was the case with the Sam Bradford pick.

No one should do that. I want the kid to succeed badly even though I'm not a big fan of the pick. If I'm right, I'm not going to throw it in the face of Rams fans, but be bothered because we squandered a high pick. I want every pick to hit, especially 1st rounders and very specifically QBs. Having a real legit QB1 always gives teams a chance.

You are way off, but not surprising. I personally don't care as I form my own opinions about things which is why I'm not bothered by discussing it. I've said plenty of times, I like discussing everything related to the Rams. If you don't think we discuss the media here, tell me why we have a media fallout thread after every game? You used media to explain your confidence in Simpson have you not? Just relax, it's a fan forum to discuss anything Rams related. No reason to work yourself up. You my buddy are hopeless on that one. You can keep that backhanded stuff to yourself. I've moved on a long ass time ago on what I wanted so it really doesn't matter. Simpson is a Ram, nothing is going to change that. What happens this season will cause conversations about that pick to occur here on this board and in the media, some fair, some not. I'm simply talking about possible conversations that'll be had. If it's too much for you, you have the option to not engage or respond at all.

But I wouldn't expect it to go well for you. Sorry man. Second guessing is always going to have someone who is right, someone who is wrong, and gradients in between. As I said before, few things bore me more than that kind of banter.

I wasn't in the camp for taking Simpson. If he does well, I'll simply cheer him on realizing yet again, I was wrong about a draft pick while moving on. If he doesn't succeed, I'll acknowledge we took a stab at the most important position on the field and we missed. Que sera sera.

So only draft a QB once you suck and have no chance at a SB? Or is it that we should spend 3 #1 picks (most likely scenario to move up for a QB potentially better than Simpson) on a QB in '27? I guess I don't get the when and where you stand on getting our next QB. Let's have some details - not just that you think Simpson is the wrong choice.
