No reason the '26 Rams shouldn't be better than the '25 Rams, health pending (of course)
That's why I was screaming for offensive tackle after the second round. Not the sexiest pick but if we didn't have a competent backup with a training camp and a few games under his belt, we could have gone down the tubes quick with a injured offensive tackle. And the guy they picked and the UDFA are proficient at multiple positions.
It'll be interesting to see how quickly these OTs can make the game day 47.
And who the other game day actives are. It'll show us, clearly, their development.

Okay bro, thanks for telling me what I'm not thinking. LOL

And you can cry some more about my remarks at a later date if you wish.
You want to call it like it is but don't like it if it happens to you?Well that's interesting but hey whatever. No one is crying at all so get that BS outta here. Sorry man, those cheap comments really don't bother me at all. I'm simply trying to have a more chill conversation with you but you don't want to hear it and that's cool. I engage pretty much everyone on here although I must admit, So Ram, is by the far the most challenging. Love the guy but can't follow his thoughts very easily :laugh4:

Bro, I can engage with anybody. We can engage or we can not engage. I prefer to engage but I will not engage if I'm not BEING engaged.......:zipper::zipper::zipper::zipper:

I think many of us may agree here and the discussion of PPG above bears that out but the need for a 3 receiver is less about the target share and more about if one of our two delicate receivers goes down.

The question then turns to what rookie WR would be just as good or better than the WR being replaced or that are already on the roster as backups.

Goes back filling a position with a body with no guarantee the rookie is an immediate impact player.

Yeah but you can say that about almost every position on the Rams - if the starter goes down. Every other team as well.

As I have said before, I would worry about the future after we win a superbowl this year.

As some people have said, it is really hard to win a superbowl and when you have the team ready to win now, you go for it. That's just my take.

Plus, I have already stated how I feel about Simpson lasting longer than 8 games. However, I will have higher hopes that his incentive to improve his physicality will be more than 8 game Murray and his Call of Duty addiction.
We can walk and chew gum at the same time. We went for it by acquiring McDuffie and Watson. And then, we worked to ensure we'll have a post-Stafford future, instead of scrambling ineptly like the Steelers have for years.

It is quite hard to win a Super Bowl. It's unlikely that a rookie WR or EDGE is putting us over the top. In fact, because we drafted Simpson, we can afford to trade one of our premium picks in the 2027 Draft. It is much more likely that a veteran is the missing piece than a rookie.

Sure but our two starters at WR have injury concerns (age and style of play) and need to be factored in. To ignore that is a dereliction.

It's a factor. But banking on any rookie to be the solution probably isn't the best plan.

Thing is - I never said I was banking on the rookie.

I just stated I would feel like we would have better odds if one of our two receivers go down.

It's a backup plan that I would hope work not a guarantee.

However, with getting Simpson there really isn't a backup plan because although I do like Klare and the receiver in the 6th round, they probably won't help at all if one of the two receivers goes down. And if Stafford goes down, we are screwed anyway.

You make a good point but I still like my version over your version because I think we will still be in QB purgatory. But I have already specified why I disliked picking Simpson.
