Goff took his situation for granted and it bit him in the ass.
My wife wanted me to buy a road atlas and my daughter said, "just use Waze". I said, "I do but it's nice to have a backup". When we took our trip, the first time we stopped for the night, I handed the atlas to her (opened to the right state) and said show me where we are. She looked at the map like it was wiring schematics for an AC unit written in sanskrit, tossed it on the couch and grabbed her phone. Kids are used to that and never had to read a map. Just like they don't know what's it like NOT to have a cell phone. Or the internet. Or Waze. Or streaming. We are OLD!Kids today have a poor sense of direction. I love maps. I used them often and had some hanging on my wall when I was young. My son will say, "We went down to Bloomsburg" and I correct him and say " You went up, because Bloomsburg is north ". He has no concept of direction despite knowing how to get places. He's never looked at a map. Its hard to wrap my head around. He uses mapquest without recognizing direction. His friends are the same way.
I drove all over the U.S. with an Atlas. It made it more fun finding my own routes. Kids are missing out these days.My wife wanted me to buy a road atlas and my daughter said, "just use Waze". They better hope there's never an EMP. They'll have to walk everywhere, use a compass and a map. Which means, they won't get anywhere.Kids are missing out these days.
Yes, a lot of it comes down to life experience and what parents teach their kids. With two parents working, social media, gaming, endless TV options, our kids miss out on a lot of educational opportunities. Plus half the time they are so distracted that they aren’t listening to the details of what you try to teach them. There are a lot of issues with education and the reality of life for the young. Just remember, it took decades for all of us to know what we know.
Having said that my daughter at 21 with her boyfriend standing there asked if they needed a passport to go to Oregon. (She's 36 now and just laughs when we bring it up.....but)
Yeah. My kids grew up and still are, "Headline" news junkies. They just gloss over the feeds for Headlines and don't read what its actually about. Drives me crazy with how bad the media is.......can't tell you how many times they have come up to me with a headline they read and when I read the article it has nothing to do with the headline. The media knows their audience!Yes, a lot of it comes down to life experience and what parents teach their kids. When I see my son later today I am going to ask him if he needs a passport to go to Oregon. I’m curious what he will say.
Why would anyone need to know that information? I'm generally curious. That's useless information imo. I could go my whole life not knowing and it wouldn't affect me.Nothing wrong with saying dumb shit at a young age, but not knowing dumb shit is another matter IMHO. For God sake, he apparently attended one of the finest institutions in the country at Berkley.
Sorry, it is just common sense. Checking both ways when you cross a street might never affect you either, but it's just good practice. I guess you could debate the fact that it is useless information for truly anything, if it does not affect you. A broad spectrum of common sense knowledge and practical skills can enhance daily life and foster a well-rounded individual. Why would anyone need to know that information? I'm generally curious. We can thank Gannett for that, they started the whole trendYeah. My kids grew up and still are, "Headline" news junkies. Poor title for the article. McVay did not throw Goff under the bus. There's an angle to this story few have brought up. It wasn't "Jared Goff isn't good enough for the Rams". It was "Matt Stafford is perfect for the Rams". Perfect time in his career. Perfect time for Sean McVay. Perfect time for Aaron Donald. Why there has to be a good guy/bad guy in this story is ridiculous. For Ram fans who dislike Goff, the kid was young (2nd yr in 2017) and helped bring this franchise back to respectability. He gets the blame for SB53 and to a certain degree, that's accurate, yet fans and even McVay himself have said, he got outcoached by Belichick. We couldn't adjust to the defensive fronts Belichick was throwing at us. And keep in mind, still just Goff's 3rd season, 2nd in a real NFL offense. It's time to acknowledge two facts. Matt Stafford is a HOF QB, great for the Rams, a SB Champion and still kicking. And Jared Goff is not some mediocre QB. He's top 10 in the NFL. We can be happy with two things at a time right?
Having said all that, Goff needs to just let it go. And Ram fans should let go of the angle Goff is not a good QB.
Why are you like this?Maybe GOOF can get an endorsement deal with Charmin. His play against the COMMODES warranted a roll.
Think I'd go with Extra Gluten.White Bread....Good Name for a rapper.
