This is said to be a weaker draft class.

But the Rams are all in. The Rams are all in.

Bringing back the yearly mantra and just changing the year.

"The 2025 NFL Draft is not just about the 2025 NFL Season" & "Most rookies typically don't make an immediate impact."

The rookie draft class of the Super Bowl Champions Los Angeles Rams consisted of Tutu Atwell, Ernest Jones, Bobby Brown, Robert Rochelle, Jacob Harris, Earnest Brown, James Funk, Ben Skowronek, and Chris Garrett. Ernest Jones did the most in his 7 starts. Outside of special teams most hardly, if ever, saw the field.
If it’s true that this draft is more about starters and less about stars, and it seems to be, then the chances of the Rams landing a real instant impact player at 26 aren’t good. So, yeah, the only way that ‘All in’ applies to the draft, is if they traded up for a player that they think is a star.

They are in position to pick a future QB if they think one is worth it. They could also try to trade back and fill a bunch of future needs. If they miss it’s not like they passed on Jared Verse to take a QB project.

I'm trending right now towards a trade down, because I like so many players projected to go in rounds 2/3. Key for 26 if they stay there is a legit impact addition for 2025 season, or a potential QBotF. If neither of those things are true then a slide down and add a pick is definitely preferred.

Let me ask this question:

If Dart is there at 26 and a team was willing to trade up with us for him (I do not believe this to be remotely the case) what does it take for the Dart likers to move off 26?

Would love this in this draft but feels like every team will want to trade out so...

The thing people need to realize is that if the Rams do happen to stay relatively healthy and with some luck and great play win the Superbowl, Stafford very well may decide to retire.
Why not believe Stafford when he said less than a month ago that he wants to play for at least a couple more years?

It's how he rates on the Rams draft board that answers that question.
If Dart is the Rams #1 target, they likely dont trade the pick
If he is one option and other options are still on the board it would depend on what's offered
Value chart wise I imagine its somewhere around a mid 2nd and mid 3rd

I thought I answered? If I see him as the QB of the future, I dont trade out of the pick. I'd think that if that were the case they might even look to move up once the 2nd QB is taken. If they like him but dont love him and a team is pushing for the pick, I look for their 2nd and 3rd if they are in the first 10 picks of the round. If a team was really hot for the pick I'd try for a 1st next year but find that unlikely

Love to hear it, but I dont recall him saying anything more than he's ready to go for this season

Do you see him as the QB of the future? Would you trade down for a 2nd or 3rd? How about a 4th or 5th? What about an extra 6th to move back a spot so another team can take him at 26.

If "if I see him..." is the answer then I think I get it.

Matthew Stafford says he’s a Ram for “at least another year and hopefully some after that

https://sports.yahoo.com/article/matthew-stafford-says-ram-least-140823510.html
Same article he says "We worked something out last year at the 11th hour to figure it out right before training camp with the understanding that we're going to re-address this if I want to play again next year"
So that's why I asked. I've only seen commitment for this year, not the "couple more seasons" you suggested

I'm not understanding where you are going with this?
I like Dart a whole lot and would be psyched if they took him at #26. I'd also be psyched if they traded back, or drafted a WR, TE, LB, OT, etc
I cant speak to what the Rams think other than they clearly need to get a QB at some point.

I was taking it as a desire and intent to play more years, not a future commitment which would be premature anyway.

Well I think the problem with him and the FO is that he isnt committing to playing for multiple years and that's why the Rams are going year to year. When you said that he said he wanted to play a couple more seasons I got my hopes up. Lol
Alas, we've got him in '25 so I'm happy with at least that

Hmmmm. My understanding is that it was the other way around. It's the Rams who don't want to commit to future years; they want to take it a year at a time. I recall McVay saying that directly. Last year Stafford said he wanted to play for a few more years. This year I've only seen the quote I referenced but the lack of commitment to the Ram/Stafford connection seems to be coming from the Ram side.
