He didn't even try to go downfield. The seagulls dlineman blatantly pulled him over. Nobody could see it any other way. Well, except, you know.

Puka screwed the Rams yesterday due to his embarrassing display with those internet clowns.

.
Maybe, but those two 3 and outs in the 4th ? If we would have threw to Puka on 1st or 2nd down I think we win. He comes through time and time again.
Pure stud. And its not like he was wrong either.
Ref had his arms up as in incomplete pass while the ball was on the turf with no one near it yet. The players on both sides gave up on the play. It was OVER.
Like the guy said, if a Ram would have decleated they guy picking up the ball we would have had a personal foul. Because the play was over. The Rams were not given any sort of fair chance on that play. The game ended up a tie in regulation, it cost us the game and home field.

Can someone explain why Puka a reciver, badmouthed getting PI calls? Wouldn't you want more?

And i would like to point out that in the seahawks game i saw a lot less of the other officials and just the white hat guy. So he got what he wanted. Less PI calls and less of the other officials

I highly doubt officiating is worse now than it was 30 years ago.

It's just that the technology is a lot better, and it's easier to spot, and to tell, that people have made mistakes.

Because I hear the exact same complaints about the officiating in soccer and cricket. That it's getting worse.

People have complained about it since I started watching professional sports in the 70s. And they always said it was getting worse and not as good as it used to be.

It's just that back then, people complained at the live events, and you didn't have an algorithm amplifying it by sending it out to millions upon millions of people.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be a lot better than it is, but anything that comes down to human fallibility is going to cause issues like this.

Having said that, I do think Puka should stfu.

There's no value in his speaking out like this. Most of the people on this forum who support him would hate a player on another team for doing the exact same thing.

He did not.
The Rams lost the game, not the Refs.
Bullshit calls happen.
Hit your FG.
Don’t give up a fucking TD on a punt return.

Puka CRUSHED it… was amazing.

Areas that have been problems for the Rams are why they lost with the biggest blame going to special teams.
The so called bullshit calls that you referenced were way beyond the rudimentary, standard type of bullshit calls that we see every Sunday, though.
They were outrageously game altering and far beyond some of the worst judgements made by the refs that I've seen in years.
Points were traded on both of the calls that changed the outcome of the game.
Other than that, pretty spot on with the rest of your points. :helmet: :clinkingbeer:

Actually it was the lineman down field at the goal line. There is 4 points right there. Strictly my opinion of course but that was the biggest screw up by the refs of all knight.
I prefer the 2 point conversion that was whistled dead and then given to the Seahawks because the RB picked up the ball. The video shows at least two refs running in and waiving off the play BEFORE anyone picked up the ball. At that point, the play is dead and the conversion is over. Never should have gone to overtime.

Well, the league is gonna be singing a different tune after the Super Bowl. They want major concessions regarding ref accountability that the ref union is gonna fight like hell to avoid that, even though the NFL wants to add members to the union by expand the ref pool and further onboarding more full time refs.

Surprisingly, the league has already outlined many of the things they want changed and there’s a real chance the refs will walk.

I’m fine with that…as far as I’m concerned, it can all be done electronically and from NY with on field refs mostly spotting the ball and managing the game, not really making calls.

The 2-point call is a rule loophole that fucked the Rams. Absolute nonsense call.
Absolutely. First of all, it LOOKED like a lateral but it wasn't really obvious especially since Verse smacked it right away. Then the refs blew the whistle, then the players stopped playing. Why do the refs have to "micro-manage" some of these decisions. A good example is Parkinson's TD catch last week... the announcer ref said he was "bumbling" the ball but secured it after the goal line. Bullshit. Parkinson made a great play and that's how it should have been called. Simple as that. And that TD that was taken away because Dedich was downfield... the refs upstairs should have overruled the horrible call on the field. No reason why these great plays have to have their outcomes decided by officials who still can't get it right even with all this high-tech equipment to help them. Keep it simple! If a player makes a great play... no reason to review it 10 times to see if he touched a blade of grass or something stupid like that. Sometimes I can't believe how outrageous and ridiculous some of these decisions are. The seahawks were awarded 2 points for NOTHING the other day. They were even shocked by the decision! Rant over.

Not surprised. The league protects the refs like they're the president of the US. You want to make the refs more accountable? Make them be available for interviews after a game like the coaches have to. If they had to explain why they make the calls they do they would try a lot harder to get it right. And be fair about it. I don't think there's any question personal opinions about coaches, players and teams affect their decisions.
The league protects the refs because they are viewed as an extension of the authority of the league. This is true of practically all sports. Speaking out against the refs is viewed as challenging the authority of the league itself.

You can't leave the game in the hands of the officials because if you do you will get screwed most of the time. NFL officials are simply not good enough.
