I think the refs decided before the game to teach the Rams and Puka a lesson for daring to say the refs have issues. They were obviously rooting for the Seahawks.
And they effected the outcome.
The Rams are a very good team, best in the league IMO and should have won this game anyway.

I believe we have "basic competance" from the officials. I'm questioning why they screw up so many calls that even some of the officials in the booth question. Like the call on Dedich for being downfield on the 1 yard line that cost us 6 points. I know refereeing is a tough job but these people have tremendous resources to assist them. I have to believe this system can be improved.

Yeah ..... So when is the NFL fucking gonna finally do something about the officiating issues?
Ignore it and just keep fining the guys that make up this league, like they've been doing for years ?
How does that improve and promote the NFL product?

Never. Just like Goodell saying "I saw the tapes and there was no cheating" with regards to the tapes handed over by Matt Walsh saying the patriots cheated in superbowl 36. Then Goodell does the makeup call and fines the patriots a first round pick on another issue.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but doesn't the "Ken Stabler rule" apply to the she hags 2nd 2 point attempt? Only the fumbler can recover a fumble in the last 2 minutes of a game or a 2 point try. Which means the ball returns to the 2 yard line and no do overs because Darnold didn't recover the ball. Not to mention I believe the whistle blew before the ball was picked up.

This does not apply to a lateral or backward pass.

All players stopped as soon as the deflected pass hit the ground. I’m hearing fairly consistently that whistles were blown which resulted in all players considering the play over. Has anybody heard a an explanation from the NFL as to why the ball was considered live AFTER the play was whistled over.

I think some things should be reviewable...facemask being one of them

I think each team should get one pi challenge per game also

Some penalties or lack there of are game breaking

That was textbook how you play that fade by Ward. Rodgers should have thrown it short forcing the Receiver to come back to the ball in which case Ward would have been flagged.

That perspective on the interference non-call vs Cleveland makes it hard to say whether it was a penalty. Though I will say that generally fans nowadays act like if you even fucking bump the wideout it's a penalty. To which I say bullshite. There is some rubbing allowed, some contact, and the later you get in the season the more it is allowed historically speaking.

So Rodgers should focus on the fact his sorry ass waited until the final drive to put the points up.

All that aside the refs fucking suck league-wide. It is a problem. And rationalizing it to be ok, or settling for shitty ass refs is how you end up with a garbage ass league nobody watches. So the NFL needs to get this fixed or they will see fans start tuning out due to not only this issue but others like exorbitant prices to take a family to watch the game, overpriced games online or complicated streaming options, etc.

I love the don't leave it in the hands of the refs argument. Yeah, just win every game by 14 points. Why didn't I think I of that. Guaranteed super bowl win every year.

This is moreso about the mentality one would want in a locker room.

Don't leave it in the hands of the refs encourages ownership of both individual mistakes AND team destiny.

It's easy to point a finger at the refs purely out of emotion. Emotions have their place—for sure! What is important to remember though is that most of the NFL is comprised of young men who are less than 30 years old, with most of them being 24-26 years old. They are not children but they are also not seasoned men whom are emotionally mature.

Puka should have learned something from this. In men, anger is almost always masking a deeper emotion. It easier to be angry than it is to allow yourself to feel the sting of that deeper thing.

If you want a young man to be selfish then you allow him to say and do things out of anger.
This will ultimately lead to selfishness .

If you want him to be responsible then you teach him how to identify and deal with this thing in a constructive way. This will lead to sacrifice.

Which do you think is better for a locker room, character or catharsis?

That being said, if we are to expect character from young men, then we should expect even more from the older referees.

Offense trying to put away an opponent had too many 3 and outs.

Special tramscgives up a TD and missed a FG.

Defense got hit with some big plays and cost us points.

Refs gave Seattle points and took points away from us by being bad.

I really don't see what's so hard to avknowledge that all of this contributed to us losing.

Not just ST
Not just D
Not just the O
Not just the bad refs

All of that factored in yo the loss.

Always the voice of reason. I think you can see how we need accountability and ownership on all sides. The players & coaches, the ownership, and the referees too!

Not his fault he said the refs sucked when hey do. If they want to not listen to criticism, then they should do a fucking better job.

I've literally flamed tween fanfiction writers that that aren't as soft, coddled, whiny babies than these supposed grown men who are so fucking soft that their employer (the NFL) can't possibly any criticism that might damage their feelings. And y'all know how I lean when it comes to mental health, emotional health, and stuff like that, but not allowing any sort of criticism, even when it's accurate, does not help anyone.

Censoring accurate criticism won't make your reffing crews less of a joke, NFL, especially when you've already laid in bed with gambling (which I have massive problems with in its entirety, but I won't get further into it. If you want me to explain my feelings, PM me, but I'm not going to break site rules by saying my feelings out loud.).

OK, Puka does need to grow up a bit.
He needs to learn as much as he wants to say something only bad can come to the team from opening his mouth.
Him talking just might have cost us 2 games.
Still, he is a BEAST and glad he is on my team.
lean, move on, Dominate.

Puka's criticisms about the NFL refs were spot on. They are the worst refs in all of the major North American sports leagues. He just shouldn't have said it when and where he did. He should have taken it up with the Rams front office who should have advocated the issue to the league office.
