Someone needs to make public these officials' phone #s and addresses. So, we can torment them like they do us every week.

I don’t want refs to get death threats or doxxed… I just want the game to be adjudicated fairly and without bias.

But I also think they should have to answer for their calls… AND I think the NFL should adopt what the XFL/USFL did (I forget which) and let us view the “New York” and what they are doing and how they arrive at a decision. That level of transparency would be amazing and allay virtually all concerns almost all of the time.

And the NFL could do this, but they don't. It seems that relieving any concerns as to wether or not they choose to steer outcomes isn't all that important to them after all.

Kraft negotiated record breaking network deals and suddenly we start to see his team prosper in ways never seen before. Coincidence? He only made every owner in the league much richer. If anything could reap favoritism by the league and not upset the money worshipping owners it would be that.

Still don't think it's not game or score fixing? It's getting so bad they don't even try to hide it.
I watched this live and just shook my head. So used to it by now. I also watched the late hits and intentional grounding penalties NOT called on the 9ers and shake my head. It is what it is, and it's sad. In this game, I was actually pulling for the Chiefs (always looking at wild card implications - even this early!), but still this sucks for Viking fans.

What makes it worse is how the refs go out of their way to do the OPPOSITE against the Rams. I mean a clear miscommunication on a Kupp route, and they call grounding claiming they are taking the subjectivity out of the refs hands. Then the 9ers do the exact same thing, and they say he was out of the pocket when replays confirm otherwise.

I've given up on the refs being good, but can they at least be consistent?

That was awful. Held and didn’t allow receiver to get back to the ball.

Couple quick/relevant points that I don't believe the above article/writer considered worthy of addressing.

First, the CBS official (Gene Steratore, I believe) agreed with the decision to pick-up the pass interference flag.

Second, that was a fourth-down-play. With no PI penalty, Minnesota turned the ball over-on-downs. Unsportsmanlike penalty should have been called for the helmet removal. However, since that happened after the play, the Chiefs (and NOT the Vikings) would have had possession either way.

Shouldn't these two points have been mentioned?

Second game in a row where the Chiefs are blatantly favored by the refs. It's getting out of hand, and add in all the Kelce/Swift shit and the Chiefs are unbearable.

The refs are either told to cheat with their calls or they are insuring their online bets by the calls they make during NFL games today.

I don't know which one is worse.

It's becoming extremely difficult to watch my beloved Rams because of how the refs are selectively enforcing the rules these days. I can fucking see Goodell... and I have a great understanding of the NFL rulebook. Stop lying to my face mother fucker.

Blatant lying is the way. Fans/customers can go fuck themselves. That's the league's 2023 motto.

There's a huge fucking difference between just missing calls and Blatant lying. Goodell and the owners believe we are totally incompetent fools.

The asshats in the booth have become the NFL's Damage Control Dept. They are being instructed to protect the blatant lies that are happening right before our faces. Unless the booth mouthpieces are all completely blind of course.

I had to mute the sound during our game yesterday because of the utter bullshit I was hearing.

I figured you can make up your own mind as to what your eyes see. We all know the announcers are under contract so they aren't going to blow whistles a lot of the time. But sometimes it's so blatant or it's a spontaneous comment. Overall they basically feel they can't openly criticize.

Oh and note it's so bad now the mainstream media is publishing it.

It’s like the third this season at least. Somehow Detroit was able to beat them even though Juwann was lining up in the backfield and had multiple false starts not being blown dead.

NFL officiating is downright pathetic. A bunch of old men who are cluelessly incompetent. As for the women officiating I am all for equality but they have only been officiating for a few years now and there’s no way any of them have EARNED the opportunity to be at the biggest stage of the sport the NFL. Let them do high school, junior college and lower level college football for about 10 years before they get to D1 level in college and then only the best go to the NFL. Earn your way and then you’ll get respect. NFL referees are a joke.

As Fred Dryer once said. Worst thing ever was the invention of instant replay. Just something to bitch about. It's an imperfect game reffed by imperfect people. Lot's of judgement calls.

Worse than the obvious smoothing over of bad calls to protect their paychecks, is when they outright "set the record straight" as the experts, but prove they're no better than we are at home.

My favorite example of this is when the ref expert agrees that the Seahag's double punt against us on primetime will be penalized "You're definitely NOT allowed to punt twice, ha ha ha", then the onfield ref explains that you are.

DOH! I guess I'm not an expert after all...

“This restaurant serves fake lobster! I think it’s really monkfish!”

“So why do you keep eating there and ordering the lobster?”
