I dont think we are going after Hill, it will be a waste. Mcvay hates the "ME not We" Players. Ie Akers
I'll give McVay credit on Akers for sure because he seemed to give him another chance but Akers was still pouting so McVay was done with him. Thought he'd be a legit back with us but those injuries definitely derailed his career from that.

Hope I'm wrong in Hill doing better or the Rams somehow trading for him? I don't think I've once flat out said that he should be the Rams priority in FA just more so saying if they somehow decided to add him, I can see the positives he brings to the football team on the field as he's still talented and I'd be ok with the addition. Personally I hope the dude finds a way to just be a better human since that's what I hope for anyone. My guess is we'll probably not go after him. I'll say again, I can't be mad at people being pissed at what he did with the whole girlfriend thing. Regardless it's gonna be interesting to see how the Rams go about building the roster since there are so many possibilities and I always feel like its the Rams make moves others don't always expect.
I hope you are wrong that the Rams could have interest in him

Thanks for correcting me. I had just read somewhere that they had that much. So how much cap space do they have? Thanks
My Best Guess is that right now it's about $40M but that's just my guess ... and, I'm not that bright.

...

Keep in mind that the sites up-date but not immediately. As of right now, OTC has the Rams at $46.6M, and Spotrac has them at $49.3M. However, neither has been updated for the Practice Squad players signed to Futures Contracts.

@OHRAM ... just a follow-up from Wednesday
I just noticed that OTC up-dated for the 13 players the Rams signed to Futures Contracts early this week.
The previous 46.6M of cap space has been reduced to $38.3M, Spotrac has still not been up-dated.

Are we still taking a cap hit for AD? If so, that is really a rule that needs to change. If a NFL players signs their retirement paperwork, that number needs to be removed from the cap. Its fairly ridiculous that it is not.

I agree. My buddy Nate (Cowboys fan) is absolutely flabbergasted that we still eat that money.

Just accounting for money already paid it's the way the game works.

Finding an ILB is a must. Rozeboom is in over his head as a starter. Bad angles and out of position
That’s apart of my daily wish list. Wagner gave us one year of stability… and puff like the add il he was gone.

A funny aspect of that is, he left because we didn't make the playoffs and he wanted to be on a playoff team. He went to the Hags who didn't make the playoffs, we did. Patience is a virtue.

That's what my argument was to him. I'm sure you can pay or not.
There's no argument, when a player receives money, it goes against the cap.
In the event a player retires, technically the team could get the player to return a pro-rate of the signing bonus and that would reduce the dead cap. In Donald's case, and in leaving the door open for a return (no matter how unlikely) the Rams werent asking to return the bonus money.

Didn't know if his "non guarantees" hit the cap or not.

It's not about guarantees or non guarantees, its simply money he has received.
The Rams did him a solid, they converted a portion of his 2024 salary in to a signing bonus, meaning he got paid. It provided them cap relief and he got a near 14 mill "bonus". In theory the Rams could have had that returned and it wouldnt affect the cap. So he had a dead cap hit in '24 and since he retired after June 1, dead cap was pushed in to '25

Just one more update @OHRAM ...

Spotrac has now also up-dated to reflect the signings of last week; and, similar to OTC, the reduction in the Rams' current cap space was a little over $8M. As a result, Spotrac has the Rams at $41.1M.

Taking an average between these two cap sites, the Rams have about $39M-$40M of cap space.

Thanks again bro. You know a lot that's for sure.
